Try revisiting some of the girls that you have seen.  Get and go through P411 for contact, even if it's been a long time they may be easier for you to be screened for.

Not really a newb but due to economics and geography I'm in the same situation as many new hobbiests.  Years ago I was working in the TC area and making good money.  I was able to pursue my interests quite easily.  I had an ATF and her friends and I could get done whenever the opportunity arose.   Now I rarely make it to the TC area.  Probably once or twice a year.  Since so many of the highly rated providers need recent referrals I'm forced to take my chances on BP.  Not knocking BP but it seems that so many there are either scammers, poor performers, or totally unreliable.  I;m mostly just venting but any advise would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Many of the high rated providers accept Preferred 411 as screening.

membership is useless. You are basically a pariah in P411 land without okays.

I would recommend trying to see escorts like Alex and Anastasia if they are your type. Both advertise on BP, are newbie friendly and well reviewed on TER. If you see them, ask to see if they would be willing to give you a Whitelist referral on TER, it would help with future visits.  

Another option is to directly email providers or get a one month VIP membership on TER for $40 and PM them with your situation to see if something can be worked out other than employment verification. Not something I even recommend.

You said you were around before. If you had reviews under a different TER handle, try contacting TER and see if they can dig up/reactivate that handle and retire this new one. A history of reviews will help, even from a few years ago. I would still review escorts you have seen on BP. It gives you some history and you can tell a GFE escort that you are looking to upgrade.

...exaggerating when you state that a P411 membership is useless without OKs. A newbie hobbyist with a P411 account and no OKs is 5 times, no wait, 6 times better than a newbie who has neither. I started on P411 with no OKs and as soon as I started waving my P411 flag around the ladies were literally throwing their panties at me to meet with me when I sent them an appointment request.

Here's an idea for the OP. Go and visit the TER Las Vegas board. There's a bunch of beautiful, seasoned Providers on there who are begging for newbies to book with them since they're newbie friendly. Then, make a trip to Vegas, see a couple of them and ask them for a P411 OK. Simple solution. It might cost you a little bit but the long term rewards will be priceless! :)
