First, for anyone remotely suspecting they will be connected to the latest scandal, please see the many articles on your right to say nothing, not even make small talk. No one is out to be your friend, cut you a break or fall for your personality.

Second, the tactics do show some desperation, but remember, that doesn't mean that can't make a case for question, searches and so on down the road. it just takes time.  So again, see the first point.

Last and most important: know this - the world of cheap archival and new laws and approaches is upon us.  Remember that even if you delete your e-mail, it can be archived for a much longer period. Know that most of these sites and the internet peers you use to go to them log your ip address.  Know that the technology involved in sorting and tracking has been vastly streamlined.

Be aware that a server in the Nederlands and some disclaimers may work now, but they may not in a few years. Anonymous relays may work until they are busted.  Thanks to the paranoia of last few years, you are much more trackable.

So plan wisely your exit strategy if you decide to partake in questionable activities.

Big Brother is real.  

On a lighter note, just because they can get this doesn't mean they can convict.  But they can charge, harass, shame, and cause a lot of worry.
