My Mother has had cancer many times and lived through each bout.  She went in for her routine check-up this week at Mayo and they ran into complications.  This is what happened yesterday:    

She's already had all the treatment, including some that are one time only.  I've spent the day assuring my Mother it's probably just a kink and the scans today will show everything is fine.  Inside I was crying.  Finally all the tests were done and we were to meet with her Dr. for the results.  She has to undergoe some surgery in the near future but it will be over and her chance of reoccurance zero.  

I drove home tonight feeling so relieved.  What a roller coaster of emotions packed into one day.    

It feels so wonderful to know that I'll have my Mom around.

I have to cancel some appointments, which means allot of "kissing up" later on. LOL   I'm sorry, but I really need to spend some time with my Mom.

Best of luck to you & your Mom. We are indeed fortunate to have Mayo in the area...they did amazing work for my problem as you know!

Misty,  Best wishes on a speedy recoverly for your mother.  The Mayo clinic indeed is a top notch clinic.  My brother was there for cancer treatments. They did an awesome job and he is still cancer free after 6 years.

Enjoy the time with your mother.  Time is the one commodity that money can not replace or buy.

I'm sorry about your mom (a couple of my family members have gone through something similiar). Be strong. Your mom will be in all of our prayers. Look forward to see everythings back to normal soon.

It's hard when you love someone to see them go through so much.  She went through 7 hours yesterday, nervy at the least.  

She's doing great!  We're so lucky to have Mayo here!
