I'm seeing Shelly this weekend. Didn't think about the first time reviews, hope everything goes OK. I'm a newbie also, and you have to start somewhere. I was planning on asking her if I can post a review. Is this the right way to go about it, or do they sometimes get turned off? I've read in here that asking may get you some special treatment. Is this true.
It seems like it's generaly left up to the provider to tell you if she doesn't want reviews. As you mentioned, asking can complicate things a bit. Depending on how/when you ask, she is more likely to be turned off than offering special treatment.
I think that most people here probably follow these guidelines:
1. Don't bring up the topic of reviews, and make your own decision about whether to review. 2. If SHE brings it up and says she'd prefer not to be reviewed, then: a. if performance was good or "as advertised" then no review b. if performance was lackluster, or appearance differs greatly from ad, etc. then post review c. if performance was just so good, you just can't keep your mouth shut, then contact her AFTER your meeting by mail/phone, let her know you had a really great time, "are you sure you don't want me to post a review?"
