Hear Hear - here's to all the men and women in blue (or brown) - thanks for having our back

Over the past several days I did some reading about this man.  While, for obvious reasons, many of us have our disagreements with some unnecessary laws, law enforcement, and vice units in particular, this man is someone to respect.

Lysander Spooner wrote "Vices are those acts by which a man harms himself or his property. Crimes are those acts by which one man harms the person or property of another."

Sgt Vick knew the difference.  Though technically a vice officer, he didn't go after vice, but did go after crime.  From what I can tell he had no interest in any consensual adult activities.  He had better things to do with his time.

He devoted his life to helping those who really needed it.  His focus was in helping people who truly were victims - those who were prostitutes against their will, and getting the genuine bad guys - those trafficking in people.

This is a sad day and a loss for all of us.

Goodbye Sgt. Vick.  May law enforcement throughout the city, state, and nation follow your example.
