question for providers

Here is a question for providers That I have trouble understanding.  So maybe you can shed some light on the subject to confirm my opinion.

Why do providers not return email messages or phone messages when you leave a name , number or email address.  Now I am not asking for specific details on what they do, just for them to return a call to potentially set up an appt.

If any hobbyists have had similar issues I would be curious to see if it is  few and far between that this happens.

I've had similiar wonderings myself.  My experiences have been mixed.  Some ladies have returned my calls promptly or at least later including the next day if I had called in late.  Who are these ladies?  Well, funnily enough they are the "cream of the crop" here in the Twin Cities.  I'm talking Madison, Catherine and Misty.  They have been the best at communications hands down.  I guess class just shows on many different levels.    On the flip side, there are other girls who I've actually been a regular with who hardly ever return calls.  I'm just patient I guess.  They miss out on a lot of business from me, but that's the way it is.  I see them eventually tho every now and then.

This has a lot to do with how organized their personal
lives are. The ones that have it together will get back to you, the ones that don't will not be reliable that way. Not because they are trying to be impolite, just because their lives are a little out of control. It all depends on the lady. Always been that way, always will. The good ones rise to the top.

I agree with both HoneyTaster and Crapgame...  It's a combination of personal organization, and a professional attitude.  Most business professionals know how to manage a steady stream of incoming messages, priortize them, and get them returned, but this is not a skill everyone has.  The professional attitude comes down to something more personal to the provider.  Again I'll use a business professional as an example.  A sales guy in a job he really likes, selling into a customer base of people he respects, will tend to get every message returned right away.  A sales guy who feels like he's in a dead-end opportunity, or feels some kind of subconscious animosity towards the customers he sells to, will usually be terrible about returning messages.

I often hear providers say "I wasn't sure if it was okay to return your call."  One thing I've always done is, at the end of my voicemail when I leave my callback number, I say "this is a private number; you can call anytime and my voicemail is safe for any message."  Doesn't seem to help one bit though.

I used to use e-mail to introduce myself, then switch to the phone, and found this rarely worked.  I can only think of 2-3 providers that ever seem to return e-mails.  I also had a case (just recently) of a well-known local provider revealing personal info from a private e-mail to others, with nearly disasterous consequences, so be careful.  That's easier to do with an e-mail than a phone call, so I'm sticking more to phone calls after that lesson.
