Every once in a while, some asshole commits a terrible crime like this and stirs up anger in the community and among LE toward this hobby as a whole! When I read this, I got the bad feeling that we will now pay the price for these peoples actions! I'm sure "new legislation" is already being drafted, and new "task forces" are being formed, and "new budgets" are being apropriated, ect, ect... to fight this "good fight" that they are all newly emboldened for! Unfortunately, They'll look in all the wrong places to try and stop these kinds of crimes....
This was a rare crime, and even though completely unrelated to us, we will end up be the ones on the recieving end of the ass fucking that this will start!  STAY SAFE AND WATCH YOUR BACKS EVERYONE!!!
(News Story)
St. Paul Police have arrested a man and a woman for allegedly kidnapping two teenage girls, locking them in their home and prostituting them out through ads placed in local papers.

Police say 34-year-old Lameia Ball and her friend, 33-year-old Alphonso Mitchell kept the girls locked up and regularly beat them, and forced one to wear little or no clothing.

According to the criminal complaint, Mitchell met one of the girls at the McDonald’s on University and Marion Blvd. He asked if she would baby sit for a friend, but she was then taken to a home on Sherburne St. where police say Mitchell told her she was now a prostitute.

Mitchell then allegedly pistol whipped her and forced her into a closet. Another teenage girl was also being held hostage at the same home.

Ball then used cell phones to advertise in newspapers like City Pages to arrange sex with men who responded.

After about a month being held hostage, one of the girls escaped, and told police of the horrors.

Neighbors on Sherburne St. say they occasionally heard crying coming from the home. “We heard little kids crying and crying at all hours of the night and during the day,” says one neighbor. “We didn't know, it could have been these girls.”

Another neighbor was stunned. “I was totally shocked, because being right next door I had no idea.”

Police say the two suspects are in custody, and the girls have been placed in protective care.

Police also say there may be more victims.

Yep, and it's why when the general public hears the term prostitute, they think of some poor girl who's being beaaten/abused/forced into it by her pimp.  Get readdy to hear a new round of "protect the children" speeches by the morality police.

at it's best. Sadly, stories like that are more about "Slavery", and torture, than about the legitimate escort scene.  It's a PR nightmare, because (while we have plenty of hobbyists),  we have no lobbyists or slick mouthpieces to represent our interests.

Wow, how do you force a girl into being a prostitute...didn't she fight back? Was she tied up or something during the session? She didnt tell anyone that came to see her she needed help? That all just sounds fishy to me, and now I have to be extra worried about the GD LE and their donut eating asses! Something similar just happened in vegas and they have really been racking down there which sucks because it's driving business away! Grrr! All this burns my ass! ..... Anyway on a lighter, colder note I just got here thismorning around 6 and had a horrible time with my first hotel so I had to switch at the last minute but now I just woke up and I'm a little less frustrated.... thanks for reading my bitch session

I think anyone who ends up by accident in a situation where they think the provider is working against her will should report it here and tip off the Police.  This kind of press while not good could get a lot worse if we look the other way.

You can be forced into being a prostitute. You also have to consider the ages of the girls.Teenagers are not smart, they think they know everything but they dont! Also, you have to consider the fear and distress that they went through on why they didnt ask for help. We dont know all the facts.Maybe they did ask for help and no one listen to them.Maybe the men didnt care. Question for the guys. If you went to hang out (you know what I mean) at a girls house and you seen cuts& bruises. what would you think and what would you do? or she looked very young? You also have to cosider the type of men that went to see them. I hate to say this BUT their is a dark side of prostitution. And the public only hears that side and bases everything about it on it.
My 2 cents

Yes you are right about how the public only sees the bad side, i remember before I started being a provider I guess I had a couple negative thoughts about it so yaaa thats my other 2 cents

I have to say that's one reason I don't see the younger providers - I'm a little gunshy of running into one that's underage. As for your other question, if I did run into a provider who was looking beat up, I'd be asking if there was anything I could do to help. That kind of violent, abusive shit has no place in this hobby.

Thankfully, the Internet helps us identify the professionals in the business, like Sue.

I don't recall a single situation, even back to the massage-parlor days, where the session seemed coerced by an "enforcer." Could I be wrong?

The Sherburne Avenue crime is horrid ... unthinkable ...

But there are so many eager clients (me included) and WILLING providers - I mean, really WILLING! - that I haven't doubted my choices.

I haven't cruised the City Pages line ads much, so I don't know what awaits out there (except Elle - a gem).

Most guys don't want to victimize women and are horrified at the thought! Even though we pay for it! (my 30 cents)

Hopefully those creeps will get a good whipping.  From their pictures in todays Star Tribune they look Hmong.  I've read about this type of treatment Asians are into before.  Not to suggest a racial thing here but merely an observation.

If the hobby was made a legal, regulated business it would help prevent situations like this from happening.
However, there will be a LE crackdown and a bunch of repressive laws passed.
