I've noticed most ladies are switching from hotels to apartments for incall.  Is there a reason, or is it just a cycle?

I just talked to a lady who is considering this. Cost is a big issue. If she wants to host an incall on Monday, she usually has to book a room for 2 nights, Sunday and Monday,She turns down a lot of appointments, because it's not worth it to get a hotel for over $100 if she doesn't have multiple appointments scheduled for that day.

It really is the hotel's that stop me from see some of the locals. I hope we are seeing a change here! My favorites in the TC market all have there own incall. It just is such a better enviroment to hobby in.  If I want a hotel room I will take the out of towner and I have no problem there!

There is more protection from LE in an apartment for the hobbiest. "Privacy laws" do not help you in a hotel/motel, they can just come on in anytime with no warning, whereas rented/owned residence requires several probable cause hoops to be jumped through.
When was the last home/apartment bust you heard about? mngirlsclub was the last one I know about, and look how many years ago that was, also look how sloppy they were and how long they had been under investigation before anything happened! Also, without the squealing fool hobbiests they caught in the parkinglot, they wouldn't have even got that far! BUT COMPARE THAT TO HOW MANY BUSTS/STINGS HAPPEN IN HOTEL/MOTELS! - ALL OF THEM FOR THE PAST COUPLE YEARS!
We need to get out minds on how things work in this time we live, the hobby rules of the 80's just don't apply anymore. a hotel security camera equipped with a $199 hard-drive wasn't an issue years ago. "Back in the day" video cameras were seldom used, and even less were hooked to recorders, and most were expensive, anolog, black&white, low resolution, and relied on time-laps-VHS technology. In this time that we live, cameras are tiny, high resolution, HDD storage can keep weeks/months/years of hallway activity in motels/hotels and are CHEAP! also they are used WAY more often!
One of the FIRST things I look for when going to a hotel/motel incall is the "vintage" of the CCV behind the front desk counter - if it's an old black&white CRT, They are probably not archiving their survellance video, but if they've got a computer tower, color monitor, stackable outboard hard-drives, ect... I get the fuck out of there!

I like hotel incalls, either very high end hotels, like La Meridian, or el-cheapo hotels that are so happy to have the business that they don't care if you're there for business or pleasure.

I used to go to an incall massage place on a well known Mpls street with a tree name.  Towards the end of that place's existance, I stopped going, because it seemed like they were bringing wayyy too much traffic into 1 house on a residential street.  I beleive they closed up shop there, but I don't know if they were busted first.

If a lady wants to take an incall apt, fine, but please, be smart enough to pick the right neighborhood.  Busy neighborhoods in lower middle class areas that abut either bad neighborhoods or industrial areas are the best, IMHO.

Also, the apt. should not be shared with another escort, as that will effectively double the traffic.

Apt's also allow the provider to use camera's and such, without the hobbyist knowing.  This would be tougher for an escort to do in a hotel setting.

Here's a question:

Am I the only one that maks sure the doors are locked (and also any doors to adjoining but separate rooms), once I am inside the hotel?

Probably not much of a security aid if the po po has the room key, but still.........

EZ

But they really don't care about the little fish in the sea! That is not why the camera is there!! IMHO

It wasn't that long ago that there were some (or perhaps1) provider(s) that threatened a hobbyist or two right out of the hobby, or at least off the boards.

I'm not comfortable with the idea of submitting to a video recorder, and then hoping that the escort doesn't wig out or try to curry favor with the po po by fingering me, via her stash o tapes.

Cameras are bad, bad, bad.

unlike Hotels/motels that often have them watching every hallway, every entrance, everywhere. It's scary to me that there is a digital record of several men entering and exiting the same room over and over, and staying aproxamately an hour each! I don't know of any apartments that have internal cameras that would show all the visitors going to the same room.
For me the bigger the complex the better, and the lower class the area the better! (usually means people coming and going alot more if most residents are the "unemployed type" ie; section 8)

with your absolute power, you can just wipe it off the board like you usually do when you need your power fix?

I think the records show that that I allow anything negative said about me to remain on the board.
I do sometimes clean up negative tripe posted against other members (especially the ladies)But what have I ever taken down that was posted against me??

I agree with Ben, you still do have some rights in a private home that you do not have in a hotel.
I think the apartment incall works best with the provider picks an apartment in a more upscale complex where the residents are more apt to be gone during the day and then quits seeing clients at 5 or 6.  This way there is no one to complain about the traffic, because they don't know.

I have to differ with your assessment of the legal situation in hotels.
Not very long ago the Minnesota Supreme Court ruled that Game Wardens need a warrent to enter a fish house on a public frozen lake because people have a reasonable expectation of privacy.
I am not a lawyer but in my opinion people have a reasonable expectation of privacy in a rented hotel room.  Therefore LE should be required to obtain a warrent if not invited in.
The problem in hotels are with stings.  In a sting one party is LE or is cooperating with LE.

I'd say that your privacy rights are upheld in your fish-house because you OWN it!  The trouble with hotels is the rooms are owned by the hotel, who can choose  to allow LE access at any time, without your fore-knowlege or consent. I know this for a fact that hotel management can walk in on you unannounced anytime they want with or without LE and you have no rights to privacy in their establishment.

just because you dont see it doesnt mean it isnt there! "those lighted exit signs" we put some of these in at work that have wireless video cams built in.

Whereas in hotels (especially in St. Paul) I see the cameras on every floor, every entry, by the pool, ect...

If an apartment building has a big problem with drugs, crime, and possibly incall traffic, I suppose the building owners could take these measure, and as the cost camera/hard-drive/wireless LAN becomes more and more affordable thay will. We always need to keep all these factors in mind as the hobby continues to evolve.

I think the danger is less from LE than landlords.  In my experience if the traffic is too high it attracts attention and then the girl is out.  I know of at least one case where the apt was rented in a guy's name to avoid suspicion, but this is only partial protection.
