Serious case of the flu going around

Saw a well-reviewed, well-regarded GFE provider last week, and a day & a half-later came down with the worst case of the flu.  Long-story short, they think I got the H1N1 bug.  So fellas & ladies, consider yourselves warned that this shit is going around the Cities here.

I went to a top name supermarket last week, bought some groceries and a day and a half later came down with the flu, long story short, could be H1N1.  Let everyone be warned that this stuff is going around, even the CDC says so.  Did you know that even if you live in a bubble you could get it?  Keep in mind you most likely will live and life will go on. ………….Now back to living.

Oh that's right.  They did.

However, a bunch of yahoos with no evidence behind their claims are saying vaccines are bad for you.

Normally, we wouldn't care that much, but unlike the regular seasonal flu, H1N1 can and has killed young, otherwise healthy people.  Nathanael Schilling, a previously healthy 6 year old boy living in Corcoran MN, died recently after getting the H1N1 flu.  

This particular strain of flu will not end up killing any more people than regular flu does.  The major difference this year is that healthy 6 year olds are ending up in the body count.

Get vaccinated.

Vacinations for Polio and Small Pox are effective enough to PREVENT you from getting them.

Flu vaccinations LESSEN the symtoms, HUGE difference there!

I'll pay to get vaccinated for something as it would PREVENT me from getting it.

I will NOT pay for a lessened version of the symtoms.  BTW, people that get the FLU Vaccination can and do STILL DIE from it.

The least we could have had in this thread is a HOT NURSE provider with photo in this thread so I can talk to her personally about this between escapades! :-)

I do not know where you get such misinformation, but I wish you wouldn't spread it around. According to CDC and WHO studies (look, I used capital letters, just like you!) smallpox, polio and flu vaccines are highly effective. No vaccine is 100% effective, however, if you inoculate against the proper strain any of these vaccines are approximately 80% efficacious.

You are sooo right!! I have no qualms about getting the vaccine as soon as its available to me and have already gotten my regular flu shot as well as a pneumonia vaccination, yes, thats right you can get that too.  I am a horrible patient with the flu and will do anything to avoid having it! Get your shots folks!! J. xxxoo

Obviously, I'm not blaming her!  In fact, I let her know I got sick, and she told me it hit her the night of our meeting.  But she is the type of provider that will not take calls when she's sick or at least give a heads up for why the kissing portion is off the menu.  I know people are losing their minds about this, and I wanted to just at least warn providers & hobbyist's about catching it.  Not meant as a critique of her.

Most of us guys are probably over 40 and received the 'swine flu' vaccine in the mid 70's.  As for the gals here, they tend to be younger.  Anyone who did get the old vaccine still carries limited immunity and probably won't get H1N1 and certainly won't die....OK

It young children who haven't developed a full immune response yet and the debilitated elderly that are at risk.

The exception is people with ages in between with underlying medical issues that are at risk as well.

It is spread both by airborne droplets (ie, cough and sneeze) and direct contact...so stay away from people who appear sickly....and please remember that the worst offenders for spreading this are toilet handles and doorknobs.  Wash your hands with antibacterial soap as often as possible and it should be no big deal.  WARNING!  Hand sanitizers just spread it all over your hands.  They may make you feel good, but actually are useless.  Use soap!

So call your clinic and see if you had the swine flu vaccine in the 70's.  More important, get the current flu vaccine since it has a much greater chance of making you deathly sick than H1N1.

Waiting for the H1N1 vaccine.

Those of you who already have had either the regular or H1N1 just saved $25
