Could be LEO... however what is wrong about a meet an greet party if it really is a social event to get to know people? Just a thought.. This could be an interesting thing to do if you respect that it's just a way to meet others and not about transactions.

Beyond that, patrons should have the common sense not to do anything stupid.

A Web site is, of course, visible. Visible to anyone... uncle leo, unhinged hobbyists, peeved providers.

IMO... The ladies organizing a M&G (or whatever) would be wise to do so under their complete control... and under the radar. Including only ladies who are comfortable with each other. Inviting only those "select" guys they all agree to invite. (The bigger MFP grew, the less secure and safe it became.)

No one would be happier than me to see the return of parties and M&Gs. But... the more open and visible the activity, the greater the risk.

So... my humble suggestions: Keep this off TER and off your personal Web sites. And consider establishing special hushmail.com e-mail account for communicating.

Maybe... But, we can't discount the possibilty of LE monitoring a perfectly legal, social event. Watching the parking lot, taking down plate numbers...

Just be patient, those who are will be greatly rewarded.

Even without a threat of LE, I cannot believe anyone would go to one of these events not knowing who you would run into.  This hobby is part of a secret life for most people.

It has barely been a year since the MFP bust and we are back at it starting a social club. I just think it is a stupid idea to post info of this new club on the board for all to see including LE. It would have been a much better idea to keep it behind the scenes.

If other posts in recent threads are correct, LE actively monitors this board. They did it for the MFP and MN Nice Guys busts. If LE wants to bust this "social club," no amount of screening is going to stop them. Any busted hobbyist or provider can easily flip and help LE get in.

Over the holidays there was a meet and greet that was busted in Houston. Screening was done and LE got past it. While no illegal activity was taking place at the site of the meet and greet, several providers and hobbyists were arrested for secondary activity like drug possession, outstanding warrants, unpaid child support and outstanding parking tickets etc.

This "club" maybe starting out with all the right intentions, it may get too big. Than can you trust every drunk to keep a secret? Eventually loose lips will sink ships!

I was not a member of MFP and don't plan on joining this "social club" but good luck with this new venture.

Those organizing this event have been working on it for a long time.  They have put a lot of thought, time, and energy into this M & G.  It is not something they just thought up yesterday...it's been in the works for several months.

These women, who are professionals,  would have assured your privacy as they appreciate their own privacy.  They would have used discretion as they do in their day to day life in this hobby.  This M&G would not have changed any of that.  Every person in attendance would have to pass vigorous screening.....if you did not want to be screened, you would not have been allowed to attend.  They were serious about making this a safe and fun event for all those present.  It is too bad fear and trepidation has to prevent us from doing what we enjoy doing.  

I wonder, do you let fear and trepidation prevent you from doing the other things you enjoy doing....or once enjoyed doing?  Don't...life is too short.  

Ladies and Gents, busts happen every day in this hobby and will continue to happen every day.  Sometimes we hear about them and sometimes we don't.  What happened last June was big and was a real headliner and, unfortunately, some people that we all knew got hurt in the process. But big busts are going to happen again.  Now, the question you have to ask yourselves is this...are you going to let the "what if's" stop you from living and enjoying this life you have today?  

It is time for the men and women of MPLS to let go of the past and move on to the present and the future.

...this M&G would have been only for those who AREN'T concerned about who they might run into. Those who care obviously wouldn't attend.

What ever happened with that?  did they actually prosecute anyone?  or was it all a shame jut trying to get guys to come out of the woodwork?

The key to these things being both safe and successful is careful screening. Those who are careless get busted. Those who are careful have a good time at the party. There is a certain degree of risk every time one of us calls one of the ladies. We all deal with it. By the same logic, I could go out today and get run over by a bus. Is that going to make me stay home? Hell no, it's going to make me look both ways before I cross the fucking street.

To the ladies who put all the work in for nothing, I'm sorry it didn't work out.

Don't know what happened to the guys who came out of the woodwork if any and what charges / pleas arose.

Who knows how many divorces, lost jobs, attorney's fees etc

They have M & G all the time.  The parties are nothing more than a pot luck type of event.  A group of friends getting together.  For some reason we don't seem to be able to do these types of events here.

What the problem is that at these events is the expectation of more than just socializing. If all it really and truly is a bunch of people meeting in a bar somewhere, then I would ask why. Why would you meet a bunch of people, many of whom aren't even going to give you their name just a "handle", and then get all friendly?

I would think that many gents would see it as a way to get a "quickie" and the ladies as a way to make a few extra bucks. Otherwise why hang out with people you will never "really" know and probably in all likely hood never see again?

Maybe I am the odd one out, but I don't see myself making friends with providers and other hobbyists. I realize it does sometimes happen, but I think it is a rare instance. When thinking about it, the only reason I would ever attend a M&G in this hobby would be because I knew a certain provider or providers that I think I might want to set something up with were going to be there and I could then see them and talk to them first before I email or call them for an appointment. But I doubt there would be a list of attending ladies sent out to the public.

Every single party I have attended, I knew who was going to be there.

It's called verification that you are safe and then you become a VIP and part of the social club. Then -only then- will you see a 'list' of hot sexy women that will attend.

How hard is it to understand.

Quit being the negative nelly on the thread; we know you won't be screened and we know you won't attend.
Negativity has ZERO place in such an event.

I would like to go to get to know the ladies personalities.  This whole hobby isn't about a quicky, it's about connecting with another individual. If you feel that connection, it makes the appointment so much more enjoyable. If I know I connect with a provider prior to an appointment, it takes a lot of the risk out of it for me, I know I'm going to have a great time.

My two cents.

the purpose of an m&g is not to fuck in front of a group of strangers (unless you are going to the Eyes Wide Shut Party) but rather to socialize and get to know the ladies.  This way, you can either add to or remove names from your TO DO list.  Certainly we as adults can behave and act like LADIES and GENTLEMEN for a few hours even if we are consuming alcohol.  I seriously do not know why this is such a hard concept to grasp.

I've attended several such events and none have been busted and everyone involved was well behaved and respectful of each others boundaries.  Surely we can be as respectful to each other in MN!!   We have such wonderful midwestern charm and kindness and are known for it in other parts of the country but yet we cannot show each other it at an M & G ??????????  It does not make any sense at all!  

I am frustrated!  This is my last post on the subject.
