Just got another unsolicited text message this morning.I have recieved several unsolicited voice mails,texts and phone calls over the last several months.And these are from well reviewed and thought of providers.I'm single so it's not a security issue for me,but it very well may be for other guys whose information is being saved by these ladys.

The funny (or sad) part of this is that the lady today was a gal that I never even got an appointment with.We had scheduled an appointment back in April but she called and cancelled on me last minute,then never returned my phone calls!

I simply filter the unsolicited emails as spam.

Unsolicited voice, text and phone calls were a big issue in the later part of 2008 and last year, seemed to taper of early this year but have picked up in the past couple months.

I turn my phone off if I am not in the process of an appointment. My voice mail is automatically deleted every 30 days so I ignore those too unless I have an appointment with a provider. Then I answer the most recent. For now, I simply delete and ignore text messages.

I tried using Google voice but you can't call from the Google number and most providers will ignore calls if they don't recognize the number.

I also quit verifying with my work info and number just in case providers start calling that number as well.

It's nice to hear what is going on inside your "big" heads sometimes, though I'm quite sure the "little" head sometimes responds to these texts and messages!  Oh, that would be the point, I guess.  

But ladies take heed (not head) to what they are saying here:  this type of behaviour, which they do not appreciate, is coming even "from well reviewed and thought of providers" which I take to mean this is not "well reviewed and thought of provider" behaviour.  So if you wish to be classy, knock this off.

One question to the gentlemen, however:  I am making an assumption here, but are these unwanted texts and voicemails coming from local ladies, or women that are rarely here, whom you have contacted in the past and either expressed interest or actually seen?  Do you mind a quick email saying "hey, I'm on my way to your neck of the woods" (appropriate for Minnesota, no?) or is even that "lacking class" in your opinion?

Please keep in mind that we ladies know a lot of people that do NOT check these boards, but keeping track of who does and who doesn't so we know who to say hi to would be keeping more detailed information about you that just an email.  I agree that texts and voicemails (most of which cost you money to receive and/or check) is uncalled for.

Actually there is a button on the Google Voice page to call any number using your Google Voice number.  Just means you will have to use a browser on your phone to do it.

I actually appreciate it when one of my lady friends thinks of me and shoots me a text or a voicemail. To each his own I guess. Perhaps if you don’t like it you should let the ladies politely know that you would prefer for them not to call or text.

I would say if you know the client does not mind unsolicited contact then it is fine but otherwise no.  I personally would not mind if at the end of a session if the lady asked me if she could send me information on specials and/or travel plans that might interest me.  But don't ask us to make appointments with you.

So I travel and I save the last email from people nice fella's in a file under the town/city that they live in... When I am returning to that town/city I usually shoot an email to the nice fella's letting them know that I will be stopping by... It usually goes something like this: "Just an FYI, I will be in "town" on the "day" to the "day"...
Do you feel like that is not classy or not a great thing to do? It seems that most of the fella's appreciate it but maybe they are just being nice..
I don't save phone number's for security reason's.. I would hate for somebody to get my phone and you all be stored in there.. I delete after the appt. unless I know I will be seeing you again soon.. Sometimes even then I delete.. Just a personal thing I suppose...
Also, get a lil portable hard drive so non of your hobby stuff is done on your laptop..

To answer BikiniBandits question, in every instance they have been respected local providers.And I have told each lady politely not to call me unless I call them first.And I haven't seen any of the ladys in question again since they, IMO, over stepped their bounds.I get the whole "the economy sucks" angle, but what these women don't seem to realize is that the economy sucks for all of us.If we guys aren't calling you it's probably because or hobby dollar is stretched also.Thanks for the different opinions and responses.

you can call through your Google voice on your phone its forwarded to without going to your browser.

If she wants to send an e-mail, I'm good with that. But if she starts calling my phone she will get treated to the same response as every other telemarketer that solicits me -

+ TER Private Mail is the biggest source of unsolicited mail from providers I have not seen before partly because they don't have my info.

+ Of the voice mails, phone calls and email, most of it is local providers that I have seen before. Due to logistical issues, I book well in advance (1-2 weeks) so it is rare that I make contact with a provider without following through with an appointment.

+ If a touring provider I have seen before and the date went well wants to let me know she will be in town again with a quick email, fine but no guarantees of an appointment or reply back. Keep in mind that if I am not looking for an appointment, chances are good I am not checking any hobby board or my hobby email because I have no reason to.

If I have asked a provider to contact me if she tours my area that I have not seen before, a brief email works too.

Providers of "solicited" email need to make sure one can easily distinguish their email i.e have your name in the from field and an email address that I recognize. If I can't distinguish you, it will just get thrashed with the rest.

+ Unsolicited phone calls and voice mails cross the line IMO and are a big no-no. Most times provider calls from a blocked number and I don't know who is calling. Even if you unblock your number it is still a no-no. Today my hobby ph, tomorrow work ph, then my house. Get the idea....another reason why I won't do work verification anymore. This is the clearest reason yet that providers don't destroy client info like they promise to do on their websites after we leave and it destroys trust.

If a hobbyist goes to CV, CL or BP then the unsolicited calls can be expected but the problem seems to be spreading to well reviewed providers as well. I see well reviewed providers in the first place to avoid this problem.

A few friends have asked me to contact them if I have a same day opening. I'm usually booked a few days in advance, so I will contact someone if:

-I have permission.
-I am horny and we have awesome chemistry.

I always discount at least $ if I call someone.

I never call anyone since I don't keep phone numbers.

. . . but in response to the ladies' questions, unless a customer has specifically said "please contact me" it is basically a no-no.  I see TER, eros, and the lady's personal website, etc. as the way to let people know you have a special or are in town.  Anyone going to the sites is going there for a reason and anyone the lady might contact probably already checks for updates on those sites.

I have always believed you gents are not only paying for my services, but most importantly, you should feel safe in assuming a provider will guarantee total secrecy. I don't think it is necessarily a question of class, but showing respect for a client, & his privacy, & protection against being discovered. If a lady is traveling there are plenty of options to get the word out. Websites, ads, TER, ect. If a client is looking for a date he will find you. If finances are in distress, Advertise more. There are plenty of sites to utilize. If I am in a financial pinch, that is my problem to fix. The game can be feast or...well, you know the rest. I try to plan ahead so I don't get in that position, but in the event I do, contacting previous clients is an absolute "No-No!

when I started watching movies 3 1/2 years ago that it is an unwritten rule/law that you DO NOT call/email/contact a hobbiest without him making first contact.

We don't know where you are, or who is next to you when your phone rings, or an email pops up on your screen.  

You might not be able to explain it, thus get caught.  That would jeopardize your ability to hobby in the future. (If you even want to try it again.)

There are a lot of us that won't even call back a voicemail unless instructed to, AND given a time to do it.  That may be the reason some of you complain that you didn't even get a call back.  If I didn't call you back, that is why.

I'm not brown nosing here, not by a long shot.

I'm just saying, use your head.  If a hobbiest wants to see you, he will call you.  If you get him in trouble, he can't call you.  Respect his privacy.

I'm gonna get lots of hate mail because of this post, but dammit, wise up!

My phone and email used,  are only hobby related.  So I get deliriously giddy with some unexpected contact from known providers.

I often ask if it is okay to call back the # the hobbyist is calling from, I am too scared that a female voice might answer!

Tell the girls it's OK then, but I bet you're in the minority.

I personally don't have a problem with the emails as long as nothing indiscrete is ever mentioned, but I would be more concerned about the types of records a lady might keep on her clients.  

unsolicited text messages have become a nuisanca however.  have received them from well reviewed providers as well - stuff like "what's up?" but even as bold as "I want you to f*ck me" and "I need your c*ck".  If I had contemplated seeing them again, the won't be now.  Really fucking stupid.  Maybe it works for some guys.

There is one in St. Cloud that is really agressive - makes unsolicited phone calls at all hours.  Goes by Becky as well as other names.  Link below is for her.  I had also written a review.  It was a good session.  The photo is of her as well.  Just not discrete enough.  She stopped calling after I asked her not to call anymore.  I responded to a completely different ad with different name and photos weeks later and when I arrived it was her.  It seems as though she is always changing her rates and services as well.

I think "MinnetonkaOne" hit most of the points.  I only use a hobby Email account and only check it when it is safe to do so thus if a lady I have seen or contacted before wants to send an Email it is no big deal to me.  Contacting any phone number you may have for me will get no response.  Not because it is not classy.  I have a hobby only phone but it is mostly off unless I am going to an appointment so unless I am on the way to see you, you will not get a response any time soon.

That said I think it is probably not the best practice to use phone contact unless asked to do so after first being contacted by the guy and only if you can get back the same day or within a time period specified by the gut calling you first.  

We alway want to be remembered in some way for reference purposes and I have heard there are ways to, shall we say "code" a name or handle of someone a provider has seen so that they would not have to keep all of the reference data on a guy after seeing him.  I think I have heard of some providers using this method in the past.  Not that I know how you should code something so please don't ask.  Just my thoughts.

Rule #1.  Providers do not initiate contact with a client - not by phone, mail, email, text, nor in person, nor even acknowledge the client if accidentally encountered in public.  

Rule #2.  When ever in doubt about whether to contact a client, refer to rule #1.  

This has been the rule from the very origin of the profession.

I live in the north country and very much appreciate when a travelng girl gives a heads up with PM or email, that she will visit Duluth. Makes the weekly planner much easier to fill out.

It seems that fella's in less provider populated area's really do appreciate when a lady is coming back shoots them an email..
I noticed that in Lancaster, Pa,  Erie, Pa,  Duluth, Wichita, KS and so on...

I get a lot of emails asking me to let people know next time I am in their town.. I also get some asking me to whitelist and delete all info. i have on them...

As far as calling goes, I hate calling when somebody is looking for an appt. and leaves their phone # in an email.. If you look on my website on the contact page, it clearly says if you do not leave a time i can call back, i will not be calling back.. I would hate to talk to your wife and have to pretend to be the phone company or the dentist office..

I have received unsolicited texts from providers and wasn't really annoyed by it.  However, the first one I recieved was last summer shortly after the LE activity was announced.  I felt like I was being set up and didn't go see the provider. (I was probably being parnoid).
However, I don't have unlimited funds to hobby, so if I am not calling some of the providers that I see there is a reason.

Since you mentioned them:

FYI in case you are unaware of this, but some of these sites (CV CL or BP) sometimes take quality provders' information and post them on their sites AS IF we were advertising there by choice.  Once it is called to my attention that my ad is there AGAIN (usually by a serious increase in calls by people who have no clue that I even have a website or how to make plans with me) I contact those sites only to find out it is virtually impossible to remove MY OWN information from them.

On the upside, even though I do make occasional but unintentional appearances on such sites, I STILL do not make unsolicited phone calls or texts.

First of all Huggybear just because your paranoid don"t mean some SOB ain"t out to get you!  Better safe than sorry.  Got an email from a lady today saying she would be in town. Have only heard from ladies I asked to let me know their plans.  No problem if someone unknown contacted me but would still be unwelcome.

Maybe if guys want to be contacted they can let the lady know by signing up for her mailing list if she has one.

Some don't mind getting an email.  I'm sure it's not easy to distinguish who wants what.  That's between them.  Whatever works.

To those of you that cling to every word I type: yes I did mistype my above sentence. I NEVER call anyone. I am an email gal and have been for many years. I do not forsee this changing. And yes: I did offer $ off on my first ever Nuru Massage session yesterday to a gent that I contacted: per his request. This has been dicussed before, and it is simple. Just ask!  I always ask clients if they would like to be informed of my incall times, by email, in the future, or if they prefer to contact me.  Most ask for me to contact them.  I do not post many ads, so I do keep a list of those who want contact, and destroy the rest.  My list is far from my computer, and it is under a safe heading.  I delete all phone numbers, so there is no way I would call.

On the other side, I have received emails from client I haven't seen for six months, and they send it as a continuation of the same email we used six months before!  

Both sides need to learn to DELETE!
