Please PM me with idea's on where to stay in Minneapolis?  I am confused!!!! Someone will say one thing, then another will say that not a good area... Well geezzzzzzzzzz.....  I am from out of state so would like to stay somewhere not only hobby friendly but where I will have things to do as well.....  This is my 1st time to your lovely city, I don't want to be couped up in my room....

downtown Minneapolis is popular since there are all kinds of things to do and hotels within walking distance of Nicollet Mall.  Also, in Bloomington, if you like the Mall of America, there are plenty of hotels within walking distance.  May is also one of our nicest weather months.

Stay downtown around the City Center area.  Plenty to do around there.

down by the mall of america in bloomington has plenty of hotels, good things to do, and it's easy to get to and from.

Downtown vs. MOA/Airport.....  That seems to be the issue here.. Coin flip, maybe... Lol... Thanks for all the info. and the PM's...... Keep em coming.. It's like a poll now....

If you will that makes it easier to consider someplace outside downtown Minneapolis.

Okay no coin toss..... I think I have the idea now.. Coming to a new city is like wearing sunglasses at midnight!!!  Thank you all for slippin' my shades off... Greatly appreciate all the feedback and now I understand why people have said the things they have said.  If anybody ever needs advise in Oklahmoa, Texas, Louisiana or Arkansas: I am your girl.....

from downtown via Light Rail in about 20-25 min- downtown is the best. Great restaurants, night life in the Warehouse district and some nice strip clubs.

BTW, You are cute! Can't wait for you to visit.

Yeah,downtown is great,unless you're a hobbiest and trying to find a place to park!
