Why is it when ever anyone post something someone else has to have a fit that it was posted!!! I am really growing weary of the overall negative attitude on this board. I know I will get lit up with this post but I always thought that a hobby was something done for enjoyment. There are very few ladies who post on this board anymore because they always get burned. Frankly I miss the daily photo posts other boards do, see Florida & Atlanta as examples, because people feel that it gives the ladies to much exposure, hell I'm here to see the ladies expose themselves. We put up with endless posts from guys to lazy to do their own searches or guys braggig they have seen 100 ladies, guess what I don't count. I'm more interested in meeting as many fun loving people I can. This board is NOT Minnesota nice and I think it is killing the hobby. We don't have near as many M & G's as other places because people get upset that they take placegoing out of there way to plan them. Sorry SG that this happened to you your previous efforts are appreciated by some of us and you will be missed another one on my bucket list that will get away, and people get it lit up for . Come on guys lighten up lets enjoy the hobby and the beautiful women who allow us to participate with them. Quick reminder without the ladies there is no hobbying. Just my frustrated opinion. Blast away guys I know you are lining up.

I participate on the NY board and their theme days because you don't have trolls like Impeachable, 3cupsplease and others and their volatile woman hating posts.
I used to love hosting and participating in theme days and TWSS days. I think it is great when Cate Smith or other ladies try to have intelligent discussions here.
We should all be more aware of how we treat others. Even if this is a John/Hooker board how we respect and treat others has an impact.
Boiled down, we are the choices we make. Make positive choices and see positive results. Treat people negatively and you will create your world to be negative.

I really hope someone else decides to host parties in MN again. There was a point (about 2.5 years ago), that our hobby world in MN was more collective and cohesive. I hope that returns.

Altantra 's post is what made me write there was no reason for a response like that. She was just stating what I would consider to be common sense but I don't have always see that on this board.
That's how the board becomes a better place. Otherwise the disagreeable people are the ones being heard.
I totally agree. I think we have let the trolls and disrespectful people contaminate the board for far too long.
I too have noticed the differences in the board we used to get a lot more ladies posting and more fun conversations but now a days it seems like every other post is just a troll or someone trolling at something. We need to get control of our board back and show tees handful of individuals that are ruining things for everyone else that they just need to find something better to do with their time. I feel bad for our mod that has to put up with all of this crap and has even said so himself this is the board he has to spend more time moderating and cleanly up after people. Cmon guys what do you really get out of calling a lady anything inappropriate when she has a differing opinion? We ar wall adults here can we behave like it at all times and not act like 5 year olds?
I brought this up a few weeks ago also, It is ridiculous that the same people (as you have mentioned,although you missed the irish prick). I sooo miss the ladies posts, but have regained some faith, just not even opening posts by the aformentioned.

This is why I virtually stopped posting on here and use an alias when I do. I got tired of jealous pricks attacking the ladies for prices, thoughts, whatever.
and you don't like what I have to say, that's OK with me. But, I might come back and reiterate, or expand on my initial post if need be, to further a discussion. Yes, healthy discussions are not always free of conflict, and that's OK. We can agree to disagree.
With respect. That's the key, in my world. But then again, not everyone lives with the same principles. We can live and learn, and be kind.
I respect that and agree, I don't care as my board name is an alias and my nature is to just be me, say what I mean and not care what others think.
The problem is that what I say can be, and has been used, to attack a lady friend of mine, hence the use of an alias so the A** holes on here can't tie my thoughts to any of the ladies that I've reviewed. Using an alias is the only way I can post my thoughts freely without worry of hurting one of the ladies I care about.
The mean scene is ruing the discussion boards here.
Always the same ten assholes running ammuck being vicious or criticizing virtually any topic.
Yet when the boards are becoming ad wastelands one after the other receives no other comment from these grouches than its everyone else's fault but their own - bitch providers, pussy men, humorless people.

I don't know that it's neccessarilly any different than it was before. There was no time in this boards history when there wasn't a hand full of trolls sniping at people. I think people just used to have thicker skin.
They didn't simply stop posting because some troll got up in their shit. They told said trolls where to stick it, and more often than not a thread could turn into a full on troll bashing cluster fuck. Even the girls had enough moxy to swing back when someone took a shot at them. Peoples sensibilities weren't so easily offended by anti-PC commentary, and the newbies didn't get lambasted for simply asking a question, and if they did, someone else stepped in to put the troll in check.
Sometimes people DO need to be called on their shit, ladies included. Big deal. This should not be such a scary thing for people - it's the fucking internet. Walk outside and the sun is still in the sky.
As for the M&G's - you can thank officer Snyder and company for shutting that down. People are still too scared to make that leap, apparently.

You allow the beautiful women to participate with you just a much as they allow you. It's a 2-way street based on exchange of money and services.
by the way, there are PLENTY of places for providers to post ads, pics, etc. Do some research. Some of them even have their own web sites. Imagine that!

How about if you participate more, start some threads and make it a little more to your liking? Coming on bitching about the state of the board without attempting to help it will do little good.

While I think they are essentially a useless wast of bandwidth and repetitive, I don't see the mod stopping anyone from starting them.

This is the most unfriendly board of the 3 I watch regularly. I told "hot sause" the other day that the only thing you can post on the MN boards is a Happy Birthday or Happy Mothers Day.

Let's face it we live in a world were we text, email and posting on boards such as this. Instant communication without the consequence that face to face interaction would command. Too many people use that anonymity to type with fire and venom, for what reason I am confounded.
I realize that this post is from a part time hobbiest non-VIP with no reviews so those that feel fire and venom is in order, I am a open target.
I've been on this board for years and I hardly ever post mainly because of how things are around here. It seems like anything that's posted/asked/questioned gets blasted. I'm on several different nonhobby boards and none of them even come close to the lack of respect people on here have for one another. It's real simple, if you don't have something constructive to say or something helpful to add, don't answer. By putting someone or someone's post down, you're actually putting effort into being a jackass. It says more about you then whatever it is you're posting. And it has nothing to do with "MN nice". It just comes down to common decency and civility. Now back to my hole.

this may be a very emotional time for many of us. Our country has executed a notorious accused criminal without the benefit of a trial and sentencing. Our inconvenient constitutional protections are in tatters. We will be forced to find a new villain to divert our attention from the bankers and politicians. As a part-time lurker, my perception is that this board isn't very welcoming. If truth be told, I discovered this board becuase it was being bad-mouthed in other boards.
Great post.... Its about time that we call for some sensorship of the 3 rogue aliases... There's no reason for people to be lambasted for asking newbie questions... or stating something that they feel...
If you don't have something positive to say, don't say it.... Offer a counter view, but don't shove it in someone's face.
TER has provided an extremely valuable resource for me over the last few months. I DO give back by writing reviews. However, how many posts do you you see me writing? Why do you suppose that is? How many others do you suppose are like me, and avoid posting? This board has NO value if folks choose to not participate. Many of the posts in the last few months have not just been disrespectful, they have been viscous. Some of the men here are HOSTILE to the providers, Some are downright scary. I truly hope these guys are trolls and not actually spending time with the ladies. I can't believe we still have ANY providers participating. How fun. An all guy board.
I don't know what the answer is. I do know that allowing people to post under an alias seems to encourage the worst in some folks. There may be valid reasons to allow an alias when reporting a rob or unsafe condition in our hobby environment. Perhaps any post used with an alias gets moderated. I don't know. I do know this board is by far the most unfriendly board I follow.
TER - it seems to me the answer is in your best interest to help solve.
I would guess your priorities are: (If I am wrong in my assumption, my apologies)
1) run a profitable business
2) provide a resource to hobbyists that allows sharing information (good and bad)
3) provide a forum for free speech?
When #3 interferes with #1 or #2, it seems to me you would take steps to correct the situation.
I'd love to participate more. We will see.

I've been online for a long time... A LONG TIME. I don't spend as much time online as I once did because I've got a life. And that's the first thing about a troll - forums are their life. They can hang out, make posts and hopefully get people so sick and tired that eventually the forum dies and they move on to their next victim. In my distant, foggy past, I used to be in a AOL chatroom as the official room "enforcer" so I have had too much experience with trolls.
For Trolls, it's all about control. They can say whatever they want because there is rarely anything or anyone to stop them. If someone is consistently rude, argues for the sake of argument with anyone and everyone - then the mod needs to warn and then ban the individual if the behavior doesn't improve. Yes, I know they can come back as someone else, but we played this game on another website and I alerted the mod that it looked like our friend was back after the mod banned him. His response, after looking at the posts was "not for long - he's gone."
So, mods make a huge difference. I'm not trying to ding the mod either. If you have concerns, you need to PM the mod in a calm, non emotional way. Don't get sucked into the soap operas that trolls love. In fact, the best thing one can do to a troll is ignore them. They do it for attention, and when they don't get any they get upset and will eventually disappear. One thing the owners could do is place a iggy feature on here.
In this particular forum, I think reviews should drive part of the process. If you wanna chat ok, but if all you do is snipe, then I think that's a key to banning someone. If you're here just to harass, what good are you both to others and the owners of the website? You're not.
So, the game plan is simple: Use the mods; beg for a ignore feature (come on TER, it's not that big a expense) but most importantly ignore them no matter what. To put it another way: Don't feed the trolls.
