The MN legislature was in session which is a good time to do a sting in part of the Twin Cities. Legislature brings in fresh supply of creeps and losers willing to bet it all on an underaged hooker.
I bet all the old-timer and super-johns are crapping in their pants, i.e., shitting in their diapers with these news. No one is ABOVE the law, even the MAGA law-makers.
If you think this was the first time something like this happened and a lawmakers was caught, you are fooling yourself.

I forgot about that. But we could put more details with out letting on about names. Especially to possibly help others out when doing google searches. This one would have been simple to help.... ie: a law maker got caught up in a Bloomington PD bust.
But knowing about busts and stings always helps people know what is going on. IE: if it is a pedo sweep, a parlor sweep, a bust of "agency", hotel raid, etc. OR if a provide happens to get taken down. Which if they screen it should never happen. But this helps keep everyone safe or aware of what is going on.

I fully support stings that target men who are attempting to solicit underage girls. And several of the dums dums that were ensnared actually thought because the age of consent in MN is less than 18 (16 and 17 year olds can legally consent to sex in MN but NOT for payment) they were OK. WRONG. Use the big head. If the poster ever says they are under the age of 18 and if you are "OK" with this RUN. 99% o the time this is a sting. Soliciting prostitution is one thing, soliciting a minor you can kiss your job, your wife, your house and your life goodbye.
Agree 100% about busting anyone going after minors.

Yes, this is the same sting in which the former MN senator was arrested. LE was presenting as a 17 year old female. The crazy thing is the cops actually give the guys multiple times to duck and leave and these rounders still take the bait.
Almost two months ago, an interesting sting operation occurred in the same area. It went on for a while. They were using that one ad site that starts with a T. They were looking for companions who were NOT using any verification process of clients and setting up dates to arrest them. In the past, "they usually" would set up a reverse sting. I don't know if they did that.
Are you talking about the ad site tryst? There were no stings in Bloomington, MN that happened 2 months ago targeted to providers. LE may have been trying to arrest a specific provider (s) for some other charge and tacked on a prostitution charge in the process, but there have been no stings targeted to providers. If a provider has an open warrant then yes, LE will try to set up a "date" to lure the provider in to arrest them. The last two stings in Bloomington were targeted at clients soliciting minors and the one before this was just a general prostitution sting. They caught flack for the general sting (hello!!! consenting adults!!) hence the reason the most recent two were just to target those soliciting minors. I keep pretty close tabs on all of the stings in the midwest and I am not aware of any that targeted providers going back at least 8-10 years.
Clients in this area do have to watch out for who they see. Even if her ID says she is over the age limit and she is not, you are still in trouble. Pre-2000, there was a local agency that had one companion who was not over the age...she was with them for a while

No, because the average male with half a brain knows better then to try and pay for sex (illegal already) with a minor (illegal and you have a screw lose). You could argue the stings that are done by LE that target consenting adults are entrapment, but when you are dealing with minors that is a hella no. Entrapment is defined as persuading or encouraging a person to commit an illegal act. I have read the transcripts when these stings are done (where the decoy "reveals" they are not 18) and the crazy thing is LE gives guys multiple times to leave the conversation before they show up to get arrested. I have never seen one of these where 14 (!) guys were dumb enough to actually go through with the meeting for the arrest. Even if sex work is ever legalized or decriminalized girls under 18 will NEVER be able to be sex workers. In countries that allow sex work (which is the majority of the world, the US is in the minority) I am not aware of any countries that allow girls under 18 to do sex work. ALWAYS assume it is LE and walk away if the person says they are under 18. Always.

its a very fine line . they are not lying they are saying girl is a minor or coercing to cause crime so probably not entrapment . who wants to go through trial to find out just stay away and leave minors alone

The only ironic thing I want to point out is the fact that some in the MN congress were pushing to protect or add in the MN Civil Rights protection list... Minor Attracted Persons. Some of those same people went after this politician full force to resign immediately. I just find the hypocrisy with our political landscape so outrageous. It is stupid. We need people to actually get back to getting along. Not this us against them mentality with politics and actually think about the common good for EVERYONE. Sorry I will get off my soap box.
Virtually everyone in the legislature went after this guy to resign immediately from both sides but I highly doubt many (or any) repubs were backing the pedo/map crowd for unique civil right protection. That's would have been a fringe left thing a decade ago but probably closer to middle left by now.
We are quite a ways down that slippery slope with the pedo crowd. It always begins with a name change (MAP), the wacko psych community will beat the drum louder that they're born this way, never chose it, and society needs to learn to understand, tolerate and accept them into the community as regular people so they can come out of the shadows. As this becomes culturally normalized and the criminalization and stigma of child rape begins to soften we will begin to be told to listen to their "voices" and "lived experiences". New names will come and a spectrum of conditions will be created by the MAP college professors and their students who will create a whole new field of study to further the MAP goals.
This will take years, maybe a few decades or generations. Just remember one thing...their goals aren't acceptance of the community. These people are fucking monsters, they do not care what others think of them. The pinnacle they strive for is state condoned and sponsored rape of innocent children and nothing less.
