That sounds SO yummy!! I bet it beats the old chicken noodle standard!! If they have TumYoum it would also clear you of what ails you!!

Cold and flu season is upon us dear friends.  Please stay home until you are completely well before visiting.  This week I've had to call off all engagements I was so looking forward to, along with work in my civilian career, because someone claimed their cold was gone and that little "sniffle" meant nothing!  This evening I had tickets to see "Cat on A Hot Tin Roof" at the Guthrie but alas, they are going to waste.  Even if you think your cold is gone, symptoms like a little sniffle means you may still be contagious.

That said, does anyone know of a place that offers spicy chicken soup for home delivery?!

On the bench until I'm well,
Francesca

Entertaining correspondence and humor welcome in the meantime  :-)

Erberts&Gerberts has soup, but you'd be best doctoring it up yourself.....a little dash of chili powder will warm you up and make the soup taste MUCH better!

Thank you, good idea!  I also discovered a favorite local vietnamese restaurant now delivers.  A steaming hot Hu Tieu Ga with lots of chili paste should do the trick!

What a horrible and debilitating illness... has kept me on my ass since Wednesday last week! I am just now getting out and about, with a still swollen throat but a subsided fever. Hopefully all symptoms will be gone so this weekend can be an enjoyable one! Feel better soon Francesca! Be sure to let your gents know why you're so kindly avoiding them this week... I made a point to post it on my site so that everyone looking to make an appointment was aware of my status - on hiatus.

Xoxo
Natalie

So sorry you have been stricken with that...how awful.  Feel better soon!

Naturally my friends have been contacted and an auto response on my email states my current status.  That was also partly the point of my post.  With several years of experience, I do engage in professional and reliable practices and communicate clearly with my clients.  Always have and always will!  :-)

Colds and cold sores ... stay home! And have you seen the pics of people sneezing, or the Guthrie enunciation spitting? Anyway, I so relate to Howie, Felix and Monk, just not as extreme:

This production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is terrific

so hopefully it will pass by the weekend.  Sadly, the show ends on Monday so probably won't be able to make it.  Ah well, there will be others.  Thank you!

Or someone to take your ticket for the show tonight and give you a full report... :-)

Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Thank you so much!  That would have been great but actually the tickets were for last night.   I hate to see tickets go to waste and would have loved for you to enjoy the show.  I am feeling much better today and expect a full recovery by the weekend.  I am staying home until I am 100% but goodness, I am going to have a different kind of fever by next week.  CABIN fever!  (Is that the kind that has only one prescription?  LOL)

"Fact or Myth? Chicken soup, hot liquids or honey can help you feel better sooner if you have a cold. [The studies go back a number of years.]

Answer: Fact

'You might have heard from your mother or your grandmother in the past that chicken soup is the cure for the common cold,' said Bernstein.

While this tip goes at least as far back as the 12th century physician Maimonides (who some historians believe heard it from his mother), there is now solid medical evidence behind a remedy that was once only thought of as merely a comfort food."

Thank you for all the warm and wonderful get well wishes!  As hoped and expected, a week in bed, lots of spicy soup, hot toddies, Vitamin C and TLC has me ready for the FCE! (Francesca Courtesan Experience!)

Looking forward to seeing my friends again this week (those without sniffles!)
