You guys who live in the metro don't know how good you have it! I'm in Duluth, so it's about 5 hrs. drive time built in...plus it makes it pretty close on the time I'm available, it has to be an appt between basically 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. which doesn't leave me much of an availability window.  It's rare for me to get away for an overnight...pretty much have to blow off a work day...luckily I'm self employed, so at least I'm able to do that on occasion.
Don't even get me started on what happens when I get no-showed!!!   Yes, I do plan on back-ups, but I won't "double book" so thats iffy too. Yes, I have made the drive home with BB:)...only once, luckily.

I'm interested in how big a role a provider's location plays in hobbyists' decisions as to whether to see her or not.  I'm referring to how close or far her location is to where the hobbyist lives or works (not the condition of the neighborhood, which is a subject already discussed on this board).

As for me, a little less than a year into the hobby, I have settled into seeing ladies within a 30-35 minute drive, at the outside.  I live on the edge of the metro area, and to reach some of the popular ladies would be closer to 45 minutes to an hour, one way.  So, couple that with the hour or two in session, that's a big chunk of my day that I usually cannot afford.  So, I look for ladies who are closer to me, even though that means I'm missing some of the popular ladies.

On the other hand, I'm skittish about seeing a lady who works too close to me, either.  Too hard to be anonymous in most such cases.

I'd be interested in how location figures into other hobbyists' decisions.

I am more centrally located in the metro, so I can get pretty much anywhere relatively quickly. I do recall seeing a particularly quirky provider whose idea of the south metro apparently extended to Northfield. That's too far.

Still, while length of drive doesn't usually bother me, it's the area I have to go that may cause me to move on. I'm just not comfortable going into B. Park or Center. Also, I've driven all over the metro, hobbying or otherwise. Parts of Nordeast and South are just kind of off limits.

At that point, I consider outcall, but only for providers I trust.

I have to consider how long in total I will be gone. The drive time is definitely considered. I am not too concerned if they are too close though. Providers often live further away from their incall location than you do.

When I'm looking for something on short notice, the closer to me the better.  If it is planned in advance, it's not a big deal.
