A few years back I had made email contact with a provider through her yahoo account.  She turned out to be a raging alcoholic and I stopped seeing her not too long after meeting her.

Recently her yahoo account got hacked and it started sending spam out to everyone in her address book - with the other addresses visible.  

There just is no "safe" list or referral site to be on in this business.  

Ooops!  Glad I used an anonymous account contacting her.

Don't use one tied to where your work or a business you deal with and don't put your real name in when signing up for an email to use for hobbying.
