Has anybody been to Costa Rica lately? I understand that providers are regulated and required to renew periodically. Is this true? I'm going in February and may want to partake
Prostitution is legal, but providers need to be independent to be legal. I.e., pimps and brothels are illegal. The girls are not shy about letting you know they're available, and some hotels will allow them to hangout in lobbies or designated areas because the hotel will charge you a bit for having a "guest." As in any major U.S. city, you can find it if you're looking for it. But in CR, the chicas might find you. San Jose is a good start. Joca (as mentioned) is nice.
Now, having written all that, as the other poster commented.... enjoy the country. There is sooo much to see and do there. A lot of beautiful things: zipline in the jungle, rain forest, volcano, hot springs/spas, the list goes on. Pack you dick for a while and enjoy the country. And if, at the end of the day, you have the urge... well... you'll know what to do. Also, for you- and ANY people traveling abroad: remember the legal systems in most countries- especially third world and emerging countries- are just not like he U.S. Just imagine for a minute being locked up abroad in some shitty jail and no one knows where you are, and you might or might not get an attorney and/or face a judge in several days. That alone should be the Rx for any hard on.
Excellent info and i agree totally. Re the last paragraph, I've always found that if you don't know the local laws, you can't afford to break them.
