One time I had a provider tell me she didn't see AA men because she didn't want to run into a pimp who would try to recruit her.

I’ve seen a few provider ads that specify not seeing AA, Asian, middle eastern, etc...  any BIPOC patrons ignore that and schedule an appt with them anyway? If so, how did that go? For my white admirers, does that turn you away from a provider that openly excludes POC?

Some providers won't see certain people because they have had bad experiences with people from that ethnicity, etc or they think there is too great a risk of running into someone they know.

Why would a client make an appointment with a provider who has openly stated she doesn't see people of the clients background?  It's not going to go over well when the client shows up.

That’s my issue - there’s bad experiences with all races, why single out a specific group, mainly black ppl.

Idk - I’ve never done it as I was instantly turned off ready that in an ad. I can see that if they want to avoid people that they might run into - I hadn’t thought of that, but it’s a big enough city and I doubt the providers posting this have this issue.

Any business that advertises they won’t serve a certain group of people doesn’t sit well with me.

I have had a couple of providers tell me that the website builder they used has language like that as a default.

It’s still up to them to create the ad as they want it to read . Default or not.   Even if someone else writes the ad for them and  maybe even posts for them
It is their message as the provider,  not a website builder, who ultimately determines what the ad conveys ,  regarding who they see or choose to say who they won’t see in published form. And the good or bad comes with that.

Not a very valid reason .

WTF???

So in your mind no other ethnic group or the Ho’s has something to say on the topic.

Do I care what spice of meat the chicks and dicks want to eat at the deli , No. It’s not my problem or my decision to make.

Geez - someone is grumpy...take a breath and try it again

That would be No.

The whole hypocrisy of bringing race to the table, then following up with  the question . Hey all the white breads out here, what’s your opinion on this matter???

Just retarded to ask a specific response group.
Why , would that carry any more weight on the subject.

You want to call the Ho’s on the carpet on this . Nothing wrong with that. But I’m not going to be all PC.

I always wondered if by saying “no AA” they didn’t want a client with a big dick (because of the stereotyping that comes with AA.)

Either way that’s a very closed minded way of thinking.

What I have heard is that a large number of AA men try to get the girls to work for them. There are also often significant rate negotiations. A few have said they regret blanketing an entire race, but the practice did cut down on the number of pimps who booked their time only to recruit them.

And the reasons run the gamut ranging from ignorance to something more serious like racism. This is a debate that happens on twitter monthly. Everyone is entitled to run their business as they see fit - you don't have to like it but you have to just let it be in this instance.

Some sex workers will not see non-white clients because they have had negative interactions and/OR *ASSUME* they will have negative interactions ranging from robbery, to the stereotype, in this instance, that black men are too well-endowed (although the research shows not all black men are that well-endowed), to disrespectful behavior, etc. And while a part of me empathizes with those that have had legitimate negative interactions, it's difficult for me to empathize with people who use stereotypes to inform their business practices. If I barred every white man who inquired with me due to previous harassment and racial epitaphs used by a former client who happened to be white, I wouldn't have a client base in certain cities. In my opinion, it's not fair to judge a whole group of people off of stereotypes/assumptions and/or previous interactions. However, that's how the brain works. We create these shortcuts that instantaneously tell us if something makes us feel safe or not. But that's a whole other topic for another day.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention this notion of "preference" because it's something that impacts both providers and clients. Recently, I saw a provider on Twitter ask why clients may not see black providers and the answers were interesting, often rooted in the notion of "preference". As a multiracial person (Sioux/Ojibwe, Persian, Black, and Italian/French), I find "preference" to be such an intriguing answer so I asked a follow up question to some of these "clients" (they are from twitter who really knows if they are booking people). I asked them what informed their preference about black providers and it was a lot of assumptions and stereotypes informed by the media rather than actual interactions with black and brown providers. At the end of the day, we all have preferences, even I do and I know what informs those preferences. But again another topic for another day.

Suffice to say, in this industry, it is what it is. There will be providers who will never see Black men or Indian men. There will be clients who will never see me because of my race or because I'll never be a size 6 - even in the military I was tape-tested and always passed. Then there are people who buck the norm like I have a white client who only sees black women because to him there's no better pairing than Italian wine and chocolate (he gave me permission to share this). So while that's his preference and he's allowed to have it, so too can providers.  Again, we don't have to like it and I don't think it's fair but unfortunately, that's life. But I subscribe to "variety is the spice of life" so if a person appeals to me, they appeal to me.

And while I can empathize with clients of color getting upset over this, it begs the (rhetorical) question: why would you want to see someone who clearly doesn't want to see you and/or thinks less of you?

Doesn’t matter, their body their rules. If they don’t want to see someone AA, Hispanic, Indian, etc that is their choice. Weather their reasoning is right or wrong, it’s still their right. If you don’t like it you can choose a different provider.

If you fall into that category and still trick them into seeing you, you are a real piece of shit and deserves to be black listed.

It’s wrong for them to bait and switch us hobbyists. It’s also wrong for us to do it to them. This is a terrible idea, and I strongly recommend against this practice.

I was more curious if they were turned away once they got on location.

A while ago, I had a provider tell me a story how a client of hers set up a meeting to see her, and than some strange man showed up instead of him. Turned out this stranger was a friend of her client, and both dudes thought this was okay to do this switch because the friend was new and didn’t have references. Needless to say it didn’t end well.

As a person of color I have run into this in the past. Fortunately I am a little older and a professional guy, so I will tell some women this who state no AA. Sometimes it works, sometimes not so much.
The ones which it really is funny to me AR the workers in which their boyfriend or pimp is AA.
One lady has an ad and states no AA but she has videos on her website and which she messing around with a black guy.
Fun times..

One time I had a provider tell me she didn't see AA men because she didn't want to run into a pimp who would try to recruit her.

Chanel Odette has a black guy in most of her OF videos (looks like same guy). I know of another popular local lady who favors and caters for black guys (she's white).
I also found it entertaining that so many providers on twitter were all for black lives matter last summer and all for civil rights and all that but then they have in there profile that they don't see black guys.

But I don't think one can generally call it racism.  It's not just a few providers, it's a lot of providers.  If we consider TER a high bar for providers (or upper tier) I think simply looking elsewhere would show that it is seen less with the providers we see here and MUCH, much more on the skankier platforms.  To prove the point, look at all the "independents" listing the free sites I'd love to mention but I don't think its allowed on here, MOST of the providers of color clearly state in their ads that either NO AA or NO AA under a certain age ie 35, 40 etc.

If a Black provider in N. Minneapolis states NO AA under 35, how in the hell could that be called rascist???

If escorts wanna say it's work, gotta follow the civil rights act.

Anyone who looks at crime statistics sorted by demographics realizes that there is a huge risk differential between them.  We're talking factors of 6 to 8X.
.
This is an industry where reporting crimes is itself a risk, as it draws your name into the public, etc.  So there is little doubt such crimes usually go unreported.
.
It's just unfortunate that the evil ones make it difficult for the rest of us.

So you’re saying the BIPOC community is 6-8x’s more likely to commit a crime? Can you clarify your point because I’m not seeing it.

You wouldn't believe me anyhow. Just look at the DOJ statistics on murderers by race, then scale for percentage of population.

Most of my friends were simply afraid of running into someone they know from RL  not so much pimps looking to exploit them

I'm half Jewish and like many AAs and other POCs, there is a history of prejudice there. I'm sure, if this was TER in the first half if the last century (yes, in THIS country/ state), there would be providers saying that they didn't trust Jews, a higher % of them would try to get their money, etc.)

For me, it makes me cringe when I see anyone being excluded. There's only one kind of client I'd like to exclude but it's pretty hard to, because everyone thinks they are low maintenance LOL!

FYI, I have this on my ads where I can write stuff.
"I am super excited to meet with all kinds of guys, including older gents, Asians, Latinos and African Americans."
