Searching TER for Minnesota providers who are Asian gets 15 pages of hits. And the results lists shows you their overall scores, so you can get some idea of "skill". At least that narrows it down some! But the reviews may not mention whether the provider is Korean, Japanese, Chinese etc.
One way to get info on that aspect is to do a search in BP on "asian". Then check out the ads that are (or at least seem to be) for independents vs. AMPs, look for description e.g. Korean, Japanese, Chinese (I've noticed many of the Asian providers will mention that in the ad text), see which if any look promising, then do the due diligence on those, e.g. check photos and check the TER reviews.
That of course only finds providers who advertise in BP and will take some work, but doing a cursory search in BP in both Body Rubs and Escorts sections garnered quite a few "possibles".
As for not finding "too many"... how many did you find? How many are you looking for? You can only see one at a time... OK, maybe two. 
And when you do find some skilled Korean/Japanese/Chinese providers, please report back here as there have been some other posts recently re seeking Asian providers.
Yes, TER VIP is a really a good investment for newbies trying to find providers, especially within a limited demographic as in this case.
A specific ethnicity is not something that's important to me in a provider, but I can empathize with the OP because when I started the hobby I was looking for a specific, and what turned out to be rare, profile. TER was incredibly valuable to me; it allowed me to find providers who I thought might be what I was looking for, and have much higher odds of success.
The other thing I'll add, while on this subject, is... don't expect to find the perfect fit (no pun intended) in a provider the first time. Could happen, but if it doesn't... I found the journey to my destination was a lot of fun. It took me several months and seeing several providers before I found what I was looking for in all respects. But I greatly enjoyed the experiences I had along the way, got to get to know some fine ladies, and learned from these experiences. Mostly because of resources like TER and to some degree BP, and fully utilizing those resources, I've only had a couple of experiences that didn't at least meet my expectations. But even those experiences were pleasant, and I learned from them. Most people tend to learn best by doing.
