Option #1 No shirt temp was in the low 40's this morning
Option #2 Bandaids chest will look real good with no hair around my nipples
Options #3 Vaseline wont that make my shirt stick more? Not to mention it will look like I’m lactating.
Guess will have to buck it up what’s a little pain.
Thanks Belinda

Started jogging couple months ago and my nipples are getting chaffed really bad and with the cooler weather in the morning they are getting worse. Any suggestions on what to do to sooth them.
Thank in advance for any help

Solutions:
1.  Take shirt off while jogging
2.  Put a bandaid over your nipples
3.  Vaseline Petroleum Jelly

Fortunately I don't have this problem, but I've seen testimonials about a product called BodyGlide that is designed to be an anti-chafe balm, and slipperier than vaseline.

Another technique I've read about, and also use so maybe that's why I don't have this problem, is in cool weather when you can't go shirtless outdoors, wear a super-tight and smooth base layer e.g. UnderArmor Heatgear compression top or similar.

Prevention is key.
I just wear a better fitting shirt that isn't moving around whilst I'm running.
Keep in mind most ladies wear sports bras .

years ago, I played volleyball.   The wrong material and sweat causes men to have Jogger's Nipple.  Ladies wear bra's that are tight fitting and act as a protective barrier.    Guys should take this very seriously as the cracks can bleed and become infected.

I've done several marathons. This is a common issue for long distance runners.

Some approaches that runner's take:

1) Vaseline, diaper cream (usually a heavy zinc oxide cream) or (imo, better) 'body glide' (any running store will carry it, or try Amazon) ... glide works well on your feet and the inside of your thighs, too --- other common areas of chafing.

2) Band-aides. You may need/want to shave around the nipple. Combine this with vaseline or glide. Usually this is needed if your nipples are already injured and you have to run,

3) Look at the clothing you're wearing. Different fabrics behave differently when they are wet, I find that some of the newer 'dri-fit' fabrics chafe less when wet than many of the older fabrics. If you are using cotton tee or similar, definitely ditch that --- it's like sandpaper when wet. As cooler weather comes around, running shirtless probably isn't an option.

Give chafing some time to heal, if you can, It's an injury like any other and it's easy to keep re-injuring yourself if you don't give it time to heal completely.

If you are looking for something soothing when your are not running, try one of the 'heavier' hand creams. I like Norwegian Formula Hand Cream, but ymmv. Creams made for diaper rash are also supposed to be effective, and I've also heard of people using nipple cream and udder cream. I have no personal experience with those.

Believe it or not, if it's race day, try running a little harder to pump up your endorphin output. Once the endorphins kick in there are all sorts of aches and pains that you stop noticing while running. Many races I've ended up with blood-soaked socks because my toes have been bleeding but I never noticed due to the endorphins.

Good luck.

I run around 35 - 60 miles a week(Just did a Half Marathon Race on Sat.) If its above 62 degrees I run with out a shirt otherwise I use just a small amount of Vaseline(it tends to stain my shirts and looks really funny)

Body glide all the way. I used it for training in the summer to stop making blood stains on my shirt. Also, my inner thighs really benefitted.

It is very unhealthy for your skin.  Use any other natural balm or oil that is not petroleum based.

I know it’s the clothes that are the biggest issue dropped weight and everything is getting baggy flopping around plus going every morning so not getting time to heal. Thanks for all the advice.

Just buy  one or two Lycra shirts to jog in.  Avoid cotton as that will absorb your sweat and make it worse.  This is very serious....the cracks can bleed and become infected.
