These boards are a great idea, but they usually devolve into a useless forum for a discerned shopper. The reviews on TER and other boards have been ridiculous as far as over-rating locals.
In general, there are not many locals who match my preferences and the select few that might are too busy to schedule...or, ahem...even return phone calls.
The reputable traveling ladies on the other hand have far more accurate reviews (good or bad), provide far more reliable service, are easier to deal with, and have fewer white knight clients senselessly pumping them up.
I think clients on these boards need to remember why we are here - to help each other out in spending our money wisely. You start to stray from that and things go south in a big hurry.
If there is some tension in our happy little community, you can trace it pretty much to the locals vs. the visitors. Unfortunately, the tension spills over to the rest of us as we both give and receive bad vibes to and from each other.
As for me, I much prefer to see s select number of excellent local ladies. However, if you have followed my endorsements lately you can see that I have promoted quite a few very wonderful visitors. That is the direct result of having unnecessary conflict at home.
I truly believe we (both men and ladies) need to take a step back and realize how much we depend on each other in the long run. I think we need to make sure we are always on the same team. That way, an ocassional dip in the ink well of a visitor is harmless to our local cohesion and happiness.
For that to happen we need to drop the bad attitudes and hang on to each other. It will get pretty cold in MN in a just a few short months. Both of us, ladies and gentlemen, need to learn to appreciate on which side our bread is buttered. Making up with each other and accepting each other as we are, can be so very wonderful. I'm really tired of the visiting ladies telling me how much we gentlemen are trashed on the back channel. And we gentlemen have to realize that maybe some of our local ladies can be real "bitchy" at times, but they are, in fact, our home grown treasures. I would love to honor and support them far and above any equally wonderful visitor.

I for one have no problems with Visiting Ladies... I believe that sometimes I for one seem to get a little too comfortable in my so called bed but the visitors sometimes put me back up on my toes!!!! Also if I was on the other end of things "Variety is the Spice of Life!!!"
