Not saying it will become an issue.    But in the article it even states it is mostly from Man on Man sex.    

 
Now AIDS/HIV was the same way and what people thought would only stay in the "gay community".    But it spread.

 
Just saying that from the article alone it is something going on in the "male gay" sex scene.    Which this also sounds like just not clean areas and dry areas of the skin.  Which creates a "ring worm" or rash.

 
The cases in NYC showed one patient was taking drugs for HIV, another traveled to Europe, two of the patients were partners, one was a sex worker, etc.

 
So again... to sound the "alarm" isn't necessary.   BUT it shouldn't be ignored.    Just like HIV and other STD's.  

 
Agreed with the whole BBFS stuff can cause a pandemic type situation in MN scene.    But this is fungal spread.   Just like ring worm in a high school wrestling room.
