What is a 'driver' exactly?

When an ad says "I drive myself" or "I have no driver", is that a euphemism for "I have no pimp" or "don't worry I'm not going to grab your cash and run away"?

Just curious.

To take it that way...sometimes it just means exactly that "I have no driver/drive myself "

Doesn't make sense entirely - if it's really "just that" and no inference otherwise, why mention it. Unless of course  I'm missing the ads that state "I have no gardner" or "I have no aromatherapist" or even "I have no extended warranty on my washing machine", or other pieces of superfluous information?

So I guess I'm not buying that explanation... ;)

Some guys just don't like it if you have a driver. I have had plenty of guys ask me if I drive myself or do I have a driver/have a friend drive me. I can definitely understand how it could be a question of discretion, if i had a driver and they would be sitting in the driveway while I was inside. So the ads that say that, are probably just trying to circumvent the need for that question being asked.

...the big, bad guy who waits in the car outside your door and bangs on your door when your time is up. Many anecdotes of providers who, once they have their donation, bolt for the door and the goon threatens the John when he tries to stop her.
Drivers aren't all bad however. Sometimes a provider has a female friend/provider drive her to appointments so they have someone who can keep track of them and help ensure they're not in danger. I've had that happen a couple of times where my date has mentioned that her friend drove her and is a hot provider and can join in the fun if I'd like. I had a lady visitor on Tuesday nite tell me she has a driver waiting in a near by ramp. My date said she doesn't like to drive lately because of a bad car accident she recently had. Not a problem when you're in a hotel with key card only access to the floors and elevators.

Were I ever to take the plunge... I wouldn't let anyone in my house if there was a driver waiting outside. Just from the point of view of being outnumbered.

It goes both ways ...
We don't know if you have another hiding in there or a weapon & intention to harm or rob us either.

So....
...guess ladies with drivers won't be getting any business from me then!

What if they have a car service (like limo or taxi that waits for them.
A lot of town car/limo drivers do take jobs like that as a side business now days too but that doesn't make them pimps or security .
If you're that paranoid then see providers with incall.

Interesting that when a provider is concerned for their safety, it's a sensible precaution. When I'm thinking of mine, it's paranoia.

You started this thread which is seeming a bit useless with your mind ALREADY made up posing it as a questions you actually wanted others to answer but not actually convince you of what you ALREADY have made up in your head SO...yeah.

Its because you're making assumptions that EVERY lady with a driver has a pimp or a goon ready to beat you down.
When in fact that's not the case.
If you researched your visitors then that wouldn't be an issue at all.
Most reputable ladies are NOT going to have their driver sitting outside your home like that.
For not knowing that yes, you do sound paranoid.

Well I don't feel it. I always think that people are very quick to accuse you of paranoia when you're in possession of too much information for their liking. As a general observation.

But again, having a client who is inviting a stranger over to their house be extra cautious is just that - extra cautious. I don't think you understand what paranoia really is.

Just realized you missed my argument by a country mile. I'm guessing that one incentive to have an outcall is that you have the assurance of being in your own surroundings. Assurance removed if there's an armed gorilla loitering outside your house.

Totally agree it's the responsibility of both to research and screen and to provide as many assurances for safety as possible. So, why bring a 'driver'? I know you say it's a glorified chauffeur and in no way intended as intimidation, however I think the perception of the intimidated renders such a claim invalid.

If you bring your 'driver', I'll bring my 'driver'. Fair?

Sure if your driver is your penis & envelope with the money in it and that's it.

You can add in more sinister motives if you want.

...... maybe they expect every girl that does an outcall to drive I dunno. But I personally don't drive (mainly because I don't know how to lol) so if they want an outcall there's one of 2 choices: i'll use a female driver  or take a taxi.  Either or  I have never had them park anywhere near the location i'm going to (i'll make them park a block or 2 away etc)

I have no pimp nor doing I have interest in snatch & grab.

Your "questions" already seem like you have your mind made up.

Gotta love rhetorical questions.

Well, yeah - I mean if I pass out my address to someone having never met them, then of course if I plan to do something evil, I've completely blown my cover and would spend the rest of my days looking over my shoulder. It just seems that the whole 'driver' thing is at the very least 'token' intimidation and at it's worst, actual intimidation.

If I invite anyone over to my place, 'provider' or not, they're free to not come in if they don't like the look of me, or tell people where they're going before they set out. I would say I'm more at their mercy than the other way around.

She's going to get other info out of you anyways to know you're safe and it's up to you to figure out how much you can or would trust her.  No decent provider is going to "put you on blast" and spread your info with the world unless you're dangerous or crazy.

To calm your paranoia it's simple, just ask the provider if she drives herself and if she says no then all you have to do is say no thank you have a nice day. But don't assume if she has a driver that she's going to rob you or her "boys" are out to get you.

You can look like good ol' Ward Cleaver (leave it to beaver) vs Eminem that doesn't mean you're safe....lol...come on.

Like Ms. Dynamite said  there's no greater chance of you being robbed by someone with a driver than it might be for some people being in your house waiting to get her if she drove herself.   I must repeat that either way it's the responsibilty of both to screen and research until your hearts content  so no one worries  if  he or she is gonna get me -_o.

Must I? :(

Not sure what lessons could be drawn from a piece of work from a crazy anti-semite...

It will educate you as to what a driver is....

Since you don't like escorts who use drivers, see those who don't use them.  There are plenty.

At this point it looks to me more like an argument between you and those who see a good use for them.  I see no point in continuing it as neither side has any realistic chance of persuading the other.  From yor comments, you clearly don't like the idea.  That's fine.  See escorts who don't use them.

I guess I was giving providers who do have a 'driver' a chance to reassure me that it poses no threat as I couldn't think of an assurance myself. I'm still open to being convinced but so far it's just really pushed me in the other direction, particularly when I'm accused of paranoia... as this would be a very obvious concern to someone who isn't familiar with this whole scene.

So no, my mind isn't made up, and in truth, I would be an asshole if I wasn't open to a very good persuasive argument. But none are forthcoming.

Here's an argument for you. A provider or one of her close friends has been assaulted by a screened client in the past, or worse; she knew one of the ladies who was found on Long Island. She has a female friend who drives her to appointments and parks nearby. Her friend is 5'0" weighs 98 pounds and is armed with a cell phone, the ability to call 911, and the ability to make a helluva racket at your front door.

Picture yourself trying to convince her of whatever you think your argument is.

To me it seems to all boils down to this argument. I'm "push_pull". I trust "push_pull" more than I trust any provider (a reasonable position). YOU should trust "push_pull" more than you trust yourself and your friend (NOT a reasonable position). Here are the chances of you convincing her that she should trust you MORE than herself and her friend.-
Zero, zip, nada, nil, nought, not at all, nonexistent, none.

Your choice remains the same. Hire her on an outcall basis and she will be delivered by her driver, or don't hire her on an outcall basis.

If safety and security in this milieu is the forest, you have your forehead firmly planted against one tree. This allows you to not even have a clear partial view of one of the trees. If you were genuinely concerned about absolutely minimizing ALL "risks" to you, you would never have a provider visit you at your residence anyway. I'm not even going to go into all of the possible scenarios on that one. Suffice it to say that the provider and her driver are not always your biggest worry. Why would you bother to  have a hobby phone and a hobby email account if you are eager to give away your anonymity anyway? You are worried about her sharing your address? Then why would would you have her come to your home?

That said, there are hobbyists who are single and don't feel it's an issue to have well reviewed providers who they have seen and are comfortable with visit their home. That is within THEIR comfort zone. On the other hand, having an unknown BP girl with 0 reviews anywhere and no history come to your residence would be bat shit crazy.

There are risks to everything. You need to assess the risks, reasonably mitigate the ones you can, and determine whether or not you can accept the remaining risks. If you are hungry you can drive to the grocery. Your likely biggest risk is that you will be in a car accident. You can stay home hungry or drive to the grocery store. You can reduce your risks when you drive by staying off your cell phone, buckling your seat belt, staying highly alert, moving your eyes nearly constantly like a fighter pilot, avoid being near cars that drive erratically, choosing a safe car, etc. etc. etc.

If you would like to learn more about assessing risk, I would highly recommend reading Nassim Taleb's book "The Black Swan". At least twice.

I don't plan on replying on this thread again. This thread has been beaten to death, and then the dead horse was flogged for a while after that. I'm just trying drive a stake into its' heart.
