I am forming a new club.  The only membership requirement is that you understand the meaning of the club's name.  Any takers?

Suffice to say it is a very specific criterion.

If you met the criteria, you'd know.

There are a least two providers who know and two hobbyists.

And no, I am not going to do a "reveal" of the criteria.

It is not a riddle that can be reasoned.  You either know or you don't.

The riddle is: why did I respond and why do I care ?    " I would never want to be a member of any club that would have me as a member "  Woody Allen

Good one!

But the quote is from Groucho Marx:

I sent the club a wire stating, "PLEASE ACCEPT MY RESIGNATION. I DON'T WANT TO BELONG TO ANY CLUB THAT WILL ACCEPT PEOPLE LIKE ME AS A MEMBER".
Telegram to the Friar's Club of Beverly Hills to which he belonged, as recounted in Groucho and Me (1959), p. 321
[Variant:] "Please accept my resignation. I don’t care to belong to any club that will have me as a member".
As quoted in The Groucho Letters (1967) by Arthur Sheekman.

He, of course, stole it as well:  The sentiment predates Marx by 61 years, however; it likely originated with John Galsworthy in The Forsyte Saga. In Part I, Chapter II, "Old Jolyon Goes to the Opera", it's said of Old Jolyon that, "He naturally despised the Club that did take him." after another refused him because he was in a trade.

My recollection was Woody Allen using the line in Annie Hall.

aka Uptonogood will have another comment about that bossik.  I liked it better when he was pining over his long lost love Hilary Holiday.  At least that was somewhat amusing.
