Great film!  :-)

As members, posters and lurkers of TER’s Minnesota board, people may know you.  You may feel like you know a particular poster. How well does anyone really know anyone?  Often times when reading the words of our fellow posters, I try imagine what this person is like in the real world. Many of you show your true depth of feelings while others are bold or business like. Of course we are all incognito, but would you like to know a little about the person behind the alias?  We all have a common interest and that is why we have come together, let’s have some fun!

We read the posts, we read the reviews and check the personal websites.  We can glean a small part of who you are.  But for today, let’s have a Virtual TER Cocktail Party and share two personal things about yourself that you are comfortable with sharing that no one here knows.

So come on in, grab a drink and a comfortable chair, the chips and dip is over there -->

I will start…

I used to drive a race car, I sold it 5 years ago, I still miss it.
I love to listen to the acoustic sunrise on cities 97 on Sunday mornings.

Bottoms up!

1. I'm a furry creature fanatic (dogs, kitties ;), polar bears, you name it).
2. I've traveled much of Europe, Asia and parts of Latin America but never strayed until I was back in MN for 10+ years and tired of onanism.

I was part of the Super Bowl halftime show when it was here in Minneapolis.

I love listening to the Grateful Dead and Metallica as well as Jewel.

I like to direct/act in community theater, trade commodity futures, play poker and the ponies and for some reason, my IPod has a hard time accepting music written after 1985.

In High school I was a Track star, & Gymnast.

Volunteer work is my passion in life. Particularly for organizations that represent the the protection of Human Rights, & empowerment of Families, & the Disabled.

I was a Beast at the Track game, lighting, thunder fucking magic bullet feet. Offered an athletic scholarship but I didn't go to college straight out of highschool, spent the interim using my track and field skills running from narcos, rollers, and jump out boys, jumping fences and the like. Other clandestant activities from my past would have ruined my eligibility for college athletics anyway. Plus I heard they expect you to run sober, and well,,,,fuck that.  I was still able to get an academic scholarship later on, which wasn't even close to the ride the athletic scholarship would have given me. Funny, how our supposed learning institutions place a higher value on your 40 time than your GPA.

To this day I swear to Christ I can run circles around anyone I know, and how I love to dare them to think I'm joking. I tell them, I'll take half a bottle of Jameson to the face and give you a head start, and when you look back, I'll already be in front of you. Bet your bank account on it.

I used to drag race!
I am an avid amateur photographer.
I have a very good digital SLR
35 MM camera and several different lenses.

I woke one morning, rolled over in my bed and said, "I want to be a race car diver."  I purchased a car, took it to Florida and went through racing school.  A few weeks later, I added "Race Car Driver" to my resume.  I can't say I was really ever a great driver, but I held my own..... Most of the time.

I saw this happen. She is one amazing lady. If you never met her your missing out .   The best

1.  I played college basketball

When I don't have passengers, I have certain ramps where i like to keep improving my max speed. I mean, really, 25MPH? Mild dyslexia means 52 is just the starting point!

So ...

1) Fast cars
2) Sexy women, duh
3) Talking to sexy women
4) Taking pictures of sexy women

and the rest is all good, but I lost my train of thought thinking about fast cars and sexy women.

I briefly played minor league baseball .... infielder - and I'm ashamed to say ...... I'm deathly afraid of spiders!! Dam creepy little buggers!

I am terrified or bridges and water, worse yet? Bridges over water!

have my mid-life-crisis sports car twenty-five years later. Still drive it on cruises around the country, too.

I love pineapple-orange juice.

in service to Queen Silvia of Sweden.  Before I met her I was given a long list of protocol;  curtsy, refer to her as "Your Majesty", etc.  She is a very kind and warm person and presented me with small gifts wrapped in blue and silver foil with the royal seal.

I attended a Rainbow Gathering for a week in northern Arizona.  I walked around in a tank top, gauzy skirt and bare feet, bathed with other naked people in a lake, sat in drum circles, was blessed by a shaman and cooked for a day in a Hare Krishna kitchen.  I never had such dirty feet in my life!

I feel the need to tell everyone more than one thing, so...

Well, I believe in the soul, the cock, the pussy, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days.

Glad see such great participation, hope  this leads to more m & g's

I umpire jr high and high school age baseball games in the summer

Have a son graduating from college in May

I drove a John Deere in a tractor pull at a County Fair.

I've milked a cow or two in my day.

Green Acres is the place to be..............

for one day. Never again!! (They put me in a silo without a mask.)

Very fun deal Melissa.  Lets do it again.   I am a big sprint car fan. Been to well over 60 different dirt tracks.  Love to snowmobile in the Black Hills.  Cocktail everyone should try Skip and go naked!

I used to be able to throw a bale of hay 5 high.  Not so much anymore!!  LOL

Survived not one, but two plane crashes....and I'm ambidextrous

Enjoy cards, especially Euchre and a world class BBQ'er.

Just bouncing around youtube and rediscovered something I hadn't watched in awhile.  Liberace playing boogie woogie.  What ever you think of him he was a great entertainer.

I am a pilot and Harley rider. I love to snowboard in summit county Colorado. I am very shy in a fashion - but can be by aggressive in private. I would like to find a chick that is around 35-40 that has similar interests.

Adam Sandler is my hero and Christopher Walken is idol.

I'm 43 and just spent $1000 in some kick a$$ Neil Diamond tickets for his July appearance at excel.

...every bit as much as I love the first pair of "Godfather" movies.  I doubt I'll ever tire of seeing it.  Most of the so called blockbuster movies bore me since I find the excessive use of special effects difficult to buy into.  Give me a "Kramer vs. Kramer" or one the old Frank Capra flicks ("Meet John Doe" is fantastic) anytime.

For a number of years, I was a kindergarten Sunday school teacher.  I volunteered to be a helper and nobody volunteered to teach.  I explained that I couldn't be the teacher and was told, "the Lord will be with you, you'll find your way."  How in the heck do you respond to that?  I couldn't so I continued to teach (quite well I've been told) until someone that wanted to really bad provided me with a graceful exit.

I ride a Harley, yet I refuse to wear any of the gear with logos on it.  I refuse to ride in groups as it imposes on the indepenent feeling I get from flying down the road.

As usual, Melissa comes up with an amazing post.  Kudos!  Your posts make you even hotter than your pictures already do....

I love street racing, always have. The track feels too...I dunno...sanctioned? Rules? Eh. Used to watch my dad and his biker buddies tear up and down Cedar by 4 corners when I was a kid. The yuppies would come down in their Porches and Corvettes and think they were bad ass, and get smoked by the neighborhood rat rods.

Before the rollers effectively shut down the midway to street races, I liked to leave skid marks all over Uni. I went down there with my 84 Regal, chopped, 350, 3 speed turbo tranny, 750 cfi double pumper, BMI shift kit, thought I was the SHIIIT. Too busy counting horses, failing to realize that all the HP in the world doesn't do you shit if you can't hold the pavement. Very first rip, I lost my pink slip to this fucking rice burner. Lesson learned.

Came back in my buddies 5.0 with a built 302 stroker and too many aftermarket whips to list - 529 RWHP on the dyno - a good set of RACING SLICKS, and got my fucking car back. Also got jumped by 10 of Bruce Lee's cousins in the process, looked like the Elephant man for a week, but it was worth it. My big mouth. Fuck a Honda. American Muscle, bitches. Bahahahahaaaa.

Martha Stewart is a warm, engaging, very funny and like able lady.i spent two hours with her and found her to be delightful

I was good enough to play pro baseball, but lacked the self-discipline to follow through....had a great run in amateur ball though.

run marathons back in the day: Twin Cities several times, Grandma's once, etc.  Almost broke three hours once--but a 4-inch long blister nixed that; missed it by a few minutes.  Today?  Gained 100 pounds since then.  Too much of "life" and its "stuff" came my way.  I'm not proud of that; it just is.

Ludwig van Beethoven is my all-time musical hero!  What a genius!  Along with Alvin Lee of "Ten Years After": Who in my generation can forget his performance of "I'm Going Home" at Woodstock??!!

Who left the condom on the floor?  This was fantastically fun and very interesting to have learned a bit about the little things that make us who we are.  Thanks everyone for playing!  Don't worry about the condom, I cleaned up already.

My bad!

I promise to help clean up next party Melissa.

Thanks for arranging this one---you rock girl!

Hugs,
JD

I just can't get away with anything anymore!

Ya had to be right there when I dropped it, didn't ya?  I thought I had you distracted by shaking my hooters!  Guess not! Dag nabbit!

Hugs,
JD

Im alot more happy person now too.

I sat on the edge of the flight deck above the arctic circle, looking at the northen lights

spent the weekend with some krishnas (francesca!)
I am an Slept with sisters, at different times.

And I do feel a little out of place, showing up at a cocktail party in jeans and sneakers. But I did dress up. I'm wearing my favorite Pink Floyd concert shirt. *flashes the Heavy Metal sign*

So, my favorite author is Edgar Allen Poe. I love his dark sense of humor.

And the radio stations I listen to are WCCO AM and 93X. Which I think illustrates the fact that although I'm old and grey, I'm still...really immature for my age. But I guess you already knew that part.

I know I just got here, but i gotta bail. I don't want to miss the wet t-shirt contest at the party down the road.

I'm typically quiet and reserved at parties, especially with all these charming and seductive ladies milling about, but with the glass of pinot Marisa poured to lubricate conversation, here goes...

I've ridden motorcycles to or through 45 of the 48 lower states at times in weather you can't imagine and on Hawaii, through weather that's easier to imagine.

A poem I wrote for my late wife to mark the occasion of our 25th aniversary was unexpectedly published in a regional journal of poetry.

Whew! I need another glass of pinot!

I might be just a little hammered, so I hope I don't make more of an ass of myself than usual,
but my claim to fame is that i was once quoted in the NY Times as a bull riding rodeo expert.

another unknown factoid-  mom, brother and myself went from MN to SanDiego in the late 50's.  No interstates, no four lanes and no GPS- just a map from AAA.  I was the navigator and delivered us to my dad's apartment in San Diego with only one wrong turn.  It was an epic trip and I fondly remember being on the infamous Route 66 once we made it to New Mexico.

And I really like looking at all the funny cat pics on the internet.

Here's a bit about me... I love to travel, and I have a fear of getting bored with life.

I love fitness... in the gym 6 days a week, but I hate running & never do it.

I stay in Minnesota bc its comfortable, and I enjoy the 4 seasons. I have an adorable puggle puppy named Murphy.

I'm terrified of going skiing, because I'm such a klutz and think I'll fall down the mountain. hehe

Don't forget to change your clocks tonight!

April Fool's Day is my favorite holiday...I once paid $9700 to pull off a prank.   Paybacks come often, but I am adictted!

I'll do everything in my power to protect a child or woman from physical or emotional harm in my presence and beyond.  Pick on someone your own size I won't turn the other cheek!  Parent, teacher or spouse, it does not matter to me...learn to be respectful or start praying!
