For the hobbyists:
Lets say you go to an incall at an apartment and someone (neighbor, mailman) asks who your there for, or as your leaving some one asks.. What do you say?

Alos, any hobbyists had this happen before?

Most people are busy enough with their own lives that if you act like you belong there there are no questions. I have had people very politely hold the door for me and let me in, even in secure buildings.

But great point to bring up so we can think of a cover story just in case.

I never had it happen.  Closest I can remember was I one time seen a provider in her home.  As I left I met an elderly gentleman out walking his dog.  He gave me a curious look as I walked by.  He never talked to me, but a may have said something like "Hello, Nice Dog".  

If they did, I would recommend they keep it short, simple, and cordial.

I once visited an apt. and there was a janitor/manager? in the hall.   Made me very nervous.   A few providers have advised on what I should do.   Such as "just walk by and call me back".   Excellent question.

I supposed I would just make up a name.

i just tell them i am looking for my Aunt Matilda..they just smile and move on thinking i am a sweet loving guy..seems to work..

I have never been ask who I was visiting.  If asked I would deflect the question with something like "are you building security"

I've ridden the elevator with the security guard, complex manager, and the maintenance man.  If I have a chance I ask their floor and make sure I push a different floor.  I always make eye contact and usually start a conversation, I believe in the "act like you own the place" philosophy in these situations.

I speak a no English

In Phoenix once some people stopped me before I entered a massage parlor (Cleopatras) and said "don't go in there they give HEs".  Whereupon I stepped right in.

Not exactly to the thread point, but once I had to ask directions to a brick and mortar accounting firm on the first and second floors or a building.  The massage parlor entrance was around the corner and then up two special flights of stairs.  The accounting people looked at me like I was human scum.  And this was my first visit, before I knew for sure what kind of place it was.  (As in happy ending central).

Never had it happen.

the lady that I was go to see, told me she was going to leave the door cracked open, (she lived in apartment building) when I got to her door. Her neighbors door opened up and she came out looking for someone(theredoors were preaty much across from one another) I just keeped on walking, and just waited 5 minute and tried again and things work out.

I have heard of this happening before from a client.  The session was in a quadplex and when he left, the mail-person asked if he could sign for a piece of mail for the tenant in the unit he just walked out of (which turned out to be for a previous tenant). He declined saying he didn't live there, of course, but he called the provider right away asking if her real name was "Jane Smith" (or whoever the mail-person asked for).  

I will say that there are scenarios where someone could ask you but in my personal life, I've never had it happen so I doubt it would happen much in the hobby.  It's always safe to have a response though.  As the subject states, Jehovah's Witness or an Amway Salesmen should help dissipate the problem :P

I've never had that happen, but I did knock on the wrong door on a property with four buildings of  eight-plex apartments.  Apparently I wasn't the only one because the guy was annoyed, but not surprised.

If I am asked, I'm there to see a friend...and I never stop walking.  

It seems to end conversation.

I tell them fuck off and mind your own business. Who are YOU here for, asshole? Seriously, who answers questions like that for a stranger.

I had said hi to her in the hallway at least once but didn't know she was the manager. Then one day I walk into the entryway and a guy holds the door open for me. I should have declined and rung her apt, but I walked in and waited for the elevator along side this woman I had seen before. We say "hi" then she tells me she's the manager and the guy wasn't supposed to let me in. She asks where I'm going, I tell her the apt #, she rides with me to my floor and says "have a nice day" as I get off the elevator and she stays in the elevator to go back down to her floor.
When I was 17 (the legal drinking age was 18) one of my older friends brought me to a bar and told me "If you act like you belong there no one will question you". That advise has served me well, for many years now.

I recently visited a provider at her incall, but I didn't realize it was her home. When I got there we traded texts and she asked for another 5 minutes. She then kept me waiting about 20 minutes finally texting and saying her mom had dropped by unexpectedly. Kind of wonder what would have happened if mom had been 10 minutes later. Hi, mom, this is my new boyfriend, and yes, he is your age???
