While waiting for a taxi at a downtown Portland hotel I noticed two provocatively dressed women, luggage in tow walking towards the hotel. When I say provocatively dressed it is being kind, the look was more "available for a price" than one normally sees outside a strip club or brothel. As the women approach I overhear one saying seductively on her cellphone "Hello honey. Why yes!... I am just checking into the hotel now" and then just a few feet past me while going into the hotel entrance, " in a half hour? Sure I'll see you then."
Does anyone here wonder what that was all about? I'm sure the bellman knew a booking was in process and the attire of the women likely raised suspicions of the front desk.
I got a chuckle out of the whole episode, but can't help but wonder why the brazenness in front of a high profile hotel instead of being low key in order to remain off the LE and hotel radar screens?
I had a similar thing happen on day several years ago; I was waiting in a hotel parking lot (nothing to do with the hobby that time) and this woman parked her car near mine and started getting stuff out all the while talking on her phone; she was clearly setting up a session. She knew I was there; even smiled at me and briefly talked to me after she got off the phone without having any idea who or what I might be.
