Beyond the pretentious names, I have trouble with the names that make me feel foolish trying to pronounce, such as Mahaylah, Milianna, Shir-something-or-other-ika, etc.
Whenever I see such name I know I'm going to butcher it when I call - not the way I want to introduce myself.
I noticed that the "fashion heiress," Nikoletta Armani, has a new review posted today. Within the past several weeks, "Tiffany Berkshire" announced her "retirement" on this Board. I am always impressed and amused by the creativity of providers at adopting impressive and pretentious assumed names.
Does anyone have a favorite pretentious provider name that they can share?

I have been thinking about this post all morning...
Ya know, I kind of poke fun of this "genre of persona", when I am at home, by myself. I do not have a beef with any particular "classy" provider, but I do find this marketing style of be a little bloated and pompous. I also do not think my own marketing style is that slick, but you know, I have opinions about what I like/dislike, and that helps me understand what I should be (and who I am.) Because I avoid engaging in (or causing) drama, I have never made fun of "classy" providers on TER. And, like I said, I actually do like the "elite" providers that I have met so far... So, there is no reason for me to incite anger here on the message boards.
However, can I just share some of the funny things I was thinking about, after I read this post?
One funny thing I daydreamed, this morning, is that it would be really funny if there was a "sub-elite" style of marketing, like what if there was a provider called "Ikea Smirnoff" ???
(HEE HEE! I amuse myself, by imagining funny possibilities, that are too weird to to be real.)
I have to admit that I grateful whenever a woman uses a unique name or adds a descriptor or last name to distinguish herself from others with the same first name. It always puzzles me that if I search the reviews for a common first name I can get twenty or thirty or more results. Thank you for not being "yet another Kim", in more ways than one!

I think, as a general rule, this is just "human nature" in American culture:
We all create personas (or wear clothes) that make us look like the people that we wish we were.
I tell people I am "wild" (and a lot of my female heroes are bad ass women who broke the rules a lot), but another NYC provider invited me on a long road trip once, because she knew I wouldn't be loud and annoying the whole time. Am I really as wild as I wish I was? Probably not.
I notice a lot of self proclaimed divas, tend to be anything but that.
It's not really mean of me to say this, since I do think all people in our culture, are prone to this behavior.
You and I both lived up to that wild label we have created for ourselves.
Going to that sexy bar and picking up a couple of other ladies to come back and have sex with us --that was WILD. Duluth/Superior has never seen such hot WILD action like that.
Anywho, I totally agree with you on the persona thing. I have fun day dreaming of different names and what persona would go with it.
I am guessing Crystal Clear would have to be a blond, wouldn't you?
