don't think about cooperating at all. The majority of the time they can't make a case against YOU without YOUR help. Their job is NEVER to help YOU, no matter what THEY say.
If you are too much of a coward to stand up for yourself, or too dumb to have a contingiency plan for this circumstance, find something else to do.

If that's true, that fact is what should frighten to you. Next time you 'date', tie a string around your finger to remind youself that intelligent people should not be so easily manipulated, and perhaps even dare to speculate that in a room full of ego-driven peons from a vice squad, you may very well be the smartest guy in the room.
It's easy for us to say what we should or should not do in such a situation but unless you've actually faced it, who knows if you would remember to be quiet or panic. Many members o LE are professionals trained in tactics to try and get the person they are questioning to do exactly that, panic and/or say something stupid.
Panic all you want. How hard is it to NOT talk? Not very. They have to make a case. Incriminating yourself is often the only way they can do it. If you willingly provide them with what they need to prosecute you, you are an idiot. There is a difference between fear and stupidity - ask a war vet.
If you have that presence of mind, more power to you. Most people aren't war vets and I suspect they are all too likely to talk when confronted with armed, uniformed men who are slapping handcuffs on them.

Why are you and so many people willing to take the side of the escort with so little information? This woman has a number of convictions including one felony and you still attack the police for lying; is it just some dislike for authority figures that makes you so negative toward the police?
As was pointed out before, this was done by the narcotics people. Did you ever think that she had drugs IN HER POSSESSION and they decided not to arrest her for possession but only prostitution?
Also the article says misdemeanor prostitution. Not gross misdemeanor, which I think it could have been since it was a "public" place. Maybe that was the deal.
Nobody here knows the full story. And without all the information it seems like a personality flaw to harbor such animosity toward a group of people who, overall, are good for society.

For another, I suspect that what we really hate is the side of a legal system that criminalizes sex between consenting adults when it is pay to play. There are plenty of people out there who are doing terrible such as stealing, assaulting, kidnapping, rape, murder, etc. I completely support LE efforts to stop such things and catch the people who do them and I find it a terrible waste of scarce resources (which we help pay for) when they go after people for doing what we do.

. . . who arrested her. The "Southeast Minnesota Narcotics and Gang Taskforce." Well, its good to know that there is no more gang and narcotics activity in Southeast Minnesota. Otherwise, they wouldn't have had the time to send the entire task force to enforce a misdemeanor prostitution bust.

It's pretty basic and has been covered here countless times. NEVER talk to police, with the exception of providing your name and address. That is all you are required to say.
Miranda clearly states: "Anything you say can and will be used against you." There is absolutely NOTHING you can say that will help you in any way, shape or form - no matter what they say or promise. Anything you say prior to being Mirandized can also be used.
I realize that if/when you are put into the position of having to deal with the cops your adrenaline starts pumping and you're scared. They are trained to capitalize on your fears. They will say anything, act like they are trying to help you, promise you things, threaten you, etc. It doesn't mean crap.
Keep the name and phone number in your cell phone or wallet of an attorney who specializes in prostitution. If they have not formally arrested you (they will typically say they are placing you under arrest and read you your Miranda rights) ask if you are free to leave. if they do not respond continue to ask until they give you a yes or no response.
If they do arrest you ask them when you can make your phone call. Your FIRST call should go to the attorney - not your buddy, your wife, or anyone else.

She's not going to bargain with them & take the fall for one charge if more wasn't at stake. Regardless, (IMHO) she made her choices all by her lil ol lonesome, & should take the fall ALONE!! In essence, she has potentially destroyed these guys lives because they complimented her by showing an interest in paying for her company. What ever the consequences she spared herself of, I would hope, & suspect the alternative consequences are going to hurt her the most.
