At that time were some at 400 but seemed to be those that had other incomes and the extra made it so they could get a hotel for one client. Plenty to chose from from 2 to 3 . When she retired rates started to drift up. Personally felt why pay more when could see her for 300. Now retired. Since then hotels have increased and add inflation think what was expensive then is still now but the 400s are fairly comparable to then. Was on P411 then and used TER reviews to confirm services and can honestly say the combination made for not ever having a terrible session. Some so so but a tribute that to chemistry.
I've been a member since 2001 and actually have the first real post on the Minnesota discussion board. I walked away a few years ago when it became a difficult task to pay with a gift card. Of course, it would have been easy with a CC but who in the hell would want a paper trail like that?! Now, after FOSTA, it's back to pretty easy with a retail gift card but is it worth it? There is a lot of competition out there for TER combined with a massive slump in the industry. The format is still unbeatable IMO but I do question the value at current rates.
One thing is obviously clear, the traffic on this board is a fraction of what it used to be and that's on both sides of the game. Personally, I was relegated back to basic membership a couple days ago and probably not ready to buy a $75 Home Depot for the next 72 days of minimal activity. The ad and regional boards are like the dead sea. The ladies are choosing to ignore the mod's requests for fun pics, the hobbyists aren't posting and the new reviews only trickle in. This isn't just because of CV-19, it was very slow before TSHTF.
If TER wants to stay relevant in the USA, I'd suggest the admin might even consider waiving membership fees all together, at least for the next year.
I hope they leave this post public to encourage some debate on it.
Right now it's really hard to think about paying for membership at all. I would like to be able to pay for a year, at a reasonable rate, with a gift card or some other non-traceable method. Unless that is available I am not motivated to even think about it until we can go back out into the world.
Sorry man but there about 4 reviews sites out there that I know of and they are all paid for unless you write a review. They would not exist otherwise. If you know of a review site that you can see all the reviews I would love to hear it.
Eccie, Adultlook come to mind but the latter doesn't go near what we are used to seeing here. It seems they've changed their tolerance of the dirty details but you can still scroll thru comments and read between the lines to find out what you need. There are a few others that will take reviews in exchange for access. Before TER was the standard, it was free. I can't remember when it went to a pay site, its been several years. Maybe sell the 30% of the screen on either side of the board to for ads to recoup some costs or generate revenue??? Maybe combine this with lower membership?
I think it would cut down on the bullshit reviews that are submitted simply to gain a little temporary access.
That's not as long as you but it's about 17 years. I don't remember what the rates were like when I first started so I can't really compare them to what they are now but I will say that it seemed to me traffic was picking up fairly quickly and looked like it might well get back to the levels seen before FOSTA happened. However, it really has dropped off quite a bit since the virus hit.
