I wanted to recommend the new email provider I got a few months back- Proton Mail. Its based out of Switzerland and its encrypted. If you email another Proton Mail user the whole communication is encrypted. Its super secure and discreet and the folks at google dont have access. Ive been using it for a while now and I like it alot. I used the freebie version for a while then upgraded. They both are good. But the upgraded version allows you to organize stuff better. I've happily noticed a few other providers have also changed to Proton. So check it out.
I set up an account whenever that last thread about it was on here. Seemed to work good but I have not used it much because I figured as soon as I send an email to a gmail account it's not encrypted anymore. Anyone know if that's the case? Wonder if it only works if both parties are using the proton account?
to your questions luckily are answered here: https://protonmail.com/support/knowledge-base/what-is-encrypted/
Also, since most emails to non Protonmail are encrypted via TLS, you may be able to rest easy. However, should you want to encrypt the message you can via setting a password: https://protonmail.com/support/knowledge-base/encrypt-for-outside-users/ Hope this helps! LJ, xx
