First, it is generally the case that ejaculate will contain blood for at least a month post vasectomy.  

The thrill of bareback must be entirely psychological.  I think my dick is normally sensitive, and I've had sex with and without a condom.  Physically there is only a slight difference in feeling.  But I imagine some guys have a psychological desire to be the ones to inject their semen.  Thus shooting blanks seems to nullify the whole notion.

And many others will not be one of those providers either...

And I actually felt pretty good after a week.  I think a lot depends on when you get the vasectomy; from what I've read it's become much simpler and easy to recover from in recent years.
