I cannot wait, I guess? You seem to be hyping this up, so I hope it does effect our (not our but the general population) perception. I just hope it is not a double edge sword. It might just be me but I believe that the underground world that we exist in keeps us safe from the general public. We need social and political change, we don't need a spot light on us unless that comes with added protection. Don't get me wrong, I would love to be more open with the hobby that I enjoy so much. It always seems that when something of this nature gets put in the spotlight it gets under siege from those with something stuck up their... (even though in our world some of us like things there)

But I think we gals are more "at risk" then you fellas, as far as the film goes.
And yes, we ladies in the film do have a passion for what we do and feel the desire to "enlighten" on some level I guess.  Kristen has asked us to get the word out.

But I suspect that social and political change won't come unless some are willing to risk the consequences of having a public profile about what they do (No, Charlie Sheen does not count).

First of all, I hope this endeavor works out well for everyone involved.  But, It could also bring undo attention to all the other well respected providers from Minnesota and around the country. They may not want all that attention, especially if the feds get involved. We all remember the  "Mn Nice Guys" fiasco and MFP as well......... This could turn out to be far worse for the whole community.

We all hope that it enlightens whomever sees the film. I'm just agreeing with the double edged sword, but it may also be a smoking gun as well.

Sorry to be such a downer, Hilary, this in no way is meant to be an attach on you. You are very brave and courageous to put yourself out front like this. For that, I commend you.

Opinion:  The documentary needed a star attraction. The only well-known provider is Nikki Avalon. Why wasn't she included in the documentary?

Success:  If the documentary makes a profit, who is entitled to gain financially? Will any of the ladies featured (i.e., Hilary Holiday) receive royalties?

Observation:  Why are most of the escorts featured in the documentary trailer shedding tears? As I watched the tears flow, I sensed that a dramatic appearance by Dr. Drew Pinsky was imminent.

Wish:  From my perspective as a hobbyist, I would have enjoyed a documentary celebrating the wealth it has generated for many of the featured ladies. Similar to MTV Cribs, a documentary highlighting the rewards (e.g., cars, real estate, business start-ups, advanced degrees, furs and jewelry) from all of the earned donation dollars would have allowed hobbyists to vicariously enjoy the fruit (i.e., Maybe my envelope helped to pay for that material pleasure.).

It has to start somewhere, but our hobby is such a strong place to begin. I do not has the answer and wish I did. I know that people are far more sexual and excepting of sexuality than our current social paradigm let's on. Researchers like Alfred Kinsey or Masters and Johnson have proved that sexuality is far more diverse and common than previously believed. Like in most things that are shunned, it seems that it is just those that speak the loudest think they know better for all of us. I hope Hilary speaks the loudest, but the road will be rocky.
All I have to say is that until 6 months ago I had know idea that this hobby existed. And the most surpising thing to me is how safe those at the top are. They are technical and percise. I know they always will be, but I worry about those at the lower end of things, which will begin to hurt those at the top.
Viva la revolution!!!

I hope the film does well and I hope that none of the ladies suffer any unintended negative consequences as a result of appearing in it.   They have shown a lot of courage by appearing under their provider "brands".  The economic consequences to these ladies could be profound.

It is possible that the film will attract a wider audience than you might immediately think.  Stories of busts for prostitution always seem to get prominent play in the news outlets, so I hope the film gets a "buzz" going on about it.

I rather doubt that the film will change too many minds, most recent laws and court actions would tend to indicate that our society is becoming less tolerant of the activity not more.  For example, during Nevada's recent budget woes, the legal brothel industry offered to pay taxes to the State.  Currently brothels are taxed at the County level.  The State refused the revenue under the confusing justification that it might "legitimize" an already legal industry.  On the other hand, you need to start somewhere.

Anyway best of luck Hilary, I hope it leads you to bigger and better things.

Can I have your autograph?

Following Kristen's dairy and tweets, I was looking forward to the launch of the website, seeing the trailer and reading about these strong ladies and the people who made it. If ound Hillary's story compelling and of course here beauty arresting. As someone posted earlier I am looking forward to seeing the completed film.
I read about the making of the film and each lady's bio over and over. The variety shown is eye opening. Isn't Hillary's path from bible college to the industry compelling? Her spiritual depth is still there. Can you imagine going form LAPD to escort?
I say shine the light so we can see how remarkable these ladies are.

Lol! If this is the expected norm for escorts then I think most of us live way under what you all presume to be "rolling in dough" Although the featured ladies in the movie I'm sure do enjoy some luxuries. If they painted it this way though, folks would get the idea that we are money hungry *maybe* drug addicted sex addicts and I don't see myself running off to buy the latest BMW... I'm saving to pay back college loans, get a decent car when I graduate, and pay taxes on all the extra income I have to claim! LOL! I think the tears come from a place that most people can imagine (as a hooker, maybe had a pimp, abuse, etc.) especially as hobbyists, but to the public the true story is still very powerful as each is unique and a life lesson in its own ways.

We are all pretty bodies (can't be faces, they're mostly blurred) but behind the computer screen is a personality and life that will interact with yours (if the time comes) and impact you in a way you maybe didn't expect. It is amazing how many ladies I've met who completely blow my mind in person because the computer screen is just a portrayal of what they really possess, some have true beauty. :) With this movie, the producer is drawing out these stories to touch people and change the way they look at what we do and why we do it. I really don't want all the attention, my parents don't know and don't need to "research" anything to put the pieces together! Luckily they live pretty far away. :)

Have a good day everyone!

Its not like they don't know who we are....escorting, in and of itself is NOT illegal. You're not a downer to ME, even if you want to be.
All of this has been thought of before, so you are saying nothing new.
We as escorts have Eros ads with our FACE showing....
They already know who we are....they aren't stupid either.

Im not saying ONE film will change minds and change politics!! You guys are so silly.
But change needs to BEGIN somewhere. And I believe it should be legal. This film won't make escorting legal. I am aware of that.
This film gives OUR side of the story, and as Ive said before, it makes us human! Many people think of us as "less than", right???  Norma Jean was a cop before she was an escort. She saw first hand how the cops treated girls like us. If one was raped or killed, LE had a VERY derogatory phrase they would say, and it went something like," NO Human Involved"....
Also, many of us have been through some tough stuff to decide to take the risky step into this industry in the first place. THAT, dear friend TED, is why they have some tears.
Yes, honestly, this winter and spring I almost had hopes that it wouldn't come to fruition. But here we are and Im thinking positively! Im glad to be apart of raising consciousness! ;)   And the other stuff...the consequences....well, sometimes thats a risk one has to take. Kristen sure has decided to do that. If you read the "press download" section of the website, your answers are there.....it sheds light on the reason we have tears. This work is not easy, in my opinion.
It is meant to be a "tear jerker" type of film.

.........we should actually SEE the film before we critique it.  I believe the concept is a valid study of "the world's oldest profession" and we all need to let the finished product speak for itself, imho.  Like other posters here, I offer my congrats to Hilary.  It takes courage to open one's life to the camera when this is the topic.

Opinion:  About a movie you haven't seen, a well informed opinion indeed. Not every movie requires a "star" to be commercially or artistically successful.  Somehow I think that if the movie is financially successful, that one more commercially successful movie than you've produced.

Success: Financially.  Since I am assuming you did not put up any money to produce the thing, not really your business.

Observation: If you read the bios of these women, you'll understand where the tears come from.

Wish: If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.  You perfectly free to make your own movie about what you perceive to be the rewards of the business.  Not the story being told in this film, which you did not make and are not required to see.
