I'm certainly a relative newbie, and somebody you should therefore be skeptical of, and also not anybody who''s ever tried to contact you, so I might be the ideal respondant to your question.
I recently read a thread about a latent provider ID showing up in the top 10 list of Minnesota providers. As chance would have it, I was going through the "new reviews' when the review that solicited the discussion board inquiry appeared. I have approached my time in the hobby as not looking for a "type", but the provider whose review I just read was totally my preconceived type. At the time I did not have PM privileges, otherwise I might have been the guy showing up in somebody''s mailbox asking questions that would have made them feel a bit queasy about answering. I did my due diligence & decided to wait for a second current review before trying to contact the provider. Still hasn't happened.
I'm legit as Hell, but if you had second & third guessed such a reality, it would not only have been understood, it would have been expected. We live in a world where a provider's reviews are important, but their reviewers review history also matters, a lot. And I check it out, always.
I guess what I'm saying is that ignoring such a request could not be viewed as a slight.
Newbies have a steeper hill to climb. I'm one of them, and I recognize the obstacles associated with that fact. One of the beauties of TER is all the hobby vets who go to the trouble of recounting the details of their journey. But I've never expected that any of the vets "give up the crown jewels" in the process of their Paying Forward.
That is all.
