i was watching msnbc last night on prostitution stings in chicago where le perform three different stings at once they had two groups in motels one calling in customers the other calling in providers which is not surprising but the third group was a shocker because the male cop would pose as a customer and call a provider at a hotel she would use the two call system so he would go alone along with another cop or two in the second car when they got the room number  either go in and arrest or wait until first cop exchanged money and go in. some time ago in a thread on outcall for us customers it was stated as being quite safe are le going to try that with customers any info helpful.

Baiting clients or providers to a hotel is very common, and a few PDs, most notably Plymouth, have advertised in news stories that they target providers who indicate that they have set up shop in their city (either location in ad or maybe phone exchange? It wasn't clear).  Getting clients that way would be harder, I think.  

1) requires sending female undercover cop alone into a hotel room where she won't have backup ready to burst in if the client turns out to be a 300 pound weightlifter suffering from bad cases of 'roid rage and misogyny, and he decides to bolt the door and get rough. In normal stings the hotel is cooperating and presumably gives backup the key to the room.  

2) finding clients with outcalls in their jurisdiction would be harder. They might not get any hits.

That said, nothing stops them from doing this if they want to bad enough. Screen.

Some are less likely than others but LE can and probably will try a variety of tactics if for no other reason than to make everyone feel they are vulnerable, which of course is true to one degree or another.  None of us is completely safe.
