Which providers are good about references? The few that I'm interested in seeing require references and I haven't been active in a while and the one that I saw wasn't keen on providing references at the time. Thoughts?

Only because of the integrity of the owner of the website did names and numbers not get published and released to LE (Feds). Any time you give out personal info, you are at risk. Better to minimize that rather than give it to an organization that may at some time be required to provide it or go to jail. I loved MFP, but never ever again......
And prostitution is legal there. Canadian authorities will not order the release of information to to any country because it is illegal there.
And I fullly appreciate that i have less at risk than others, stemming not just from my philosopy, but also my low-risk situation.
Actually, its only legal in a very restricted sense, as long as its arranged privately and conducted in a non-public venue. That makes agencies, public advertisements, street walking, car dates, and massage parlors, etc are all illegal. For example, if you arrange a meet and greet over coffee at a Starbucks and an arrangement is discussed and agreed upon would be illegal. Phone calls and email is basically what you are left with and the provider pretty much has to use her own residence.
As for P411 though, its a far cry from the defunct MFP. And there are means to becoming a member without divulging any personal info.
I lived and worked in Canada for quite awhile LE usually ignores massage parlors since we're inside . But I know they will allow new members with a few provider references sometimes.
I was lazy this time and didn't look it up, but don't the other means involved being vouched for. That wouldn't help a newbie.

Agree, I have never seen one report of P411 doing this and have never had any problems with their services
that's why I stick with them.
...I thought I followed this pretty closely but never heard that Feds were involved. I don't think it involved any Federal issues.

According to what I understand, they thought MFP was closely tied to the Nice Guys, When it became clear that it was just a case of some overlapping members and that the escort from Columbia who was an informant (she had been busted some time before and was in the country illegally) had simply run an ad on MFP, the Feds lost interest in MFP.
I got started in the hobby last summer with no references, and was lucky enough to see a couple of ladies who didn't require references; we established a relationship via e-mail, and that worked. Then, they both agreed to be references, and away I went.
I've had mixed success with asking ladies to whitelist me in TER. Some do, some promise to do so but never follow through, and others won't (pleading ignorance of the tech skills required). I have not joined P411 because I do not want my info out there--and, yes, I know, it's supposed to be 100% secure.
I can give you some names of the ladies who have whitelisted me or agreed to be references, if you'll PM me. But, as in most things, YMMV. No guarantee that a lady who will be a reference for one hobbyist will do so for another one...and vice versa.
It is not a good idea to give specific ladies names to an UNKNOWN alias with NO history. ESPECIALLY in regards to this subject. Please use some DISCRETION!!!!

My first advice would be to NOT give out any personal info, unless of course you have
nothing to be discreet about. In that case I guess that p411 would be ok.
Second, I would suggest you post under your "real" ter id. That way I, or anyone else,
could PM you with maybe some helpful info on which providers might be able to
help you with references after you've seen them. It's kind of tough to get help with
anything when you're posting behind an alias.

It's the same way I connected with HH a while back but she wasn't as liberal as she is these days on providing references - she wouldn't respond on references requests back in the day (09) and wasn't keen on TER - told me as much when we met. As a new dude, I didn't really understand it but I do now. HH was as much of a gem then as she is now....clearly more happy with the path these days then back then and more happy to provide references....which is cool.
Totally cool by me.....all the paranoia and concern is all I need to read. Thanks all....don't need the hassle....and I respect everone's concerns....
It's not worth the risk for me either....but fun to read "some" of the reviews....
Now defunct local review board/discussion site/referral site. LE thought it was an agency and arrested the person running the site.
