After reading Mariahlove's taking a break post, I thought to myself what if she didn't have a tazer, or  ability to reach for a lamp to defend herself?

Fact: 95% of physical confrontations end up on the ground (I'd say the majority of the hobby is spent off our feet)

In most cases the women are at a physical disadvantage in size and strength, and typically in very vulnerable positions.

For those that don't know MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) is a combination of ground combat, submission/control techniques, Throws/takedowns, and some kickboxing.

Plus it is a phenomenal total body workout, core strength, endurance, and builds confidence. I started taking classes a couple years ago because I wanted to learn some Jason Bourne stuff, but now it's really a life style thing. Stay away from the health club classes it's not the real thing.

OK hopping off soap box

I wanted to arrange a group to attend a self-defense class for us.
There were 2 gyms willing to do a class for us without other women.
Would need 10 ladies to sign up.    I only got about 5 that were serious
about it.   If anyone still wants to do this, please PM me.    The course I
am most interested in includes training on trusting your instincts, staying
centered, using your voice to de-escalate a situation, inappropriate touch,
how to re-direct energy, fighting, and telling your story.

Thank you, Belind

IF any lady (or man!!) wants to learn how to shoot a gun, I'd be a happy happy range partner :)

Although I usually end up taking their back.  The third hook provides excellent control.

Sometimes defending oneself can make the situation worse so it's best to GTFO of there as quickly as you can.

I'm not saying it's recommended to go toe to toe with an unruly client merely have some tactics up your sleeve to mitigate physical harm and give yourself an opportunity to GTFO.

More like a really good idea I'd say.
