Part of it is because of the new format.  I really do not like it at all.

I think the Board tried to rectify an error with the Board sponsored themes, but would be better off letting the providers come up with themes themselves, it was more lively a few years ago, more spontaneous,  and I think more activity would branch off from that, as a starting point to more activity

It's too bad.  I used to look forward to conversations that included you.  They were witty and charming.  

I find it harder to read through threads and easily see what I've already read and what is new.  At the same time, the board had been declining for quite some time before that.  I know some people think a lot of the conversation has moved to social media.

My question is, why do we allow those few to control the board?  I see these boards as a place to ask questions and get feedback on providers.  I know I have been chastised for asking about providers in the past by some, but I could really careless what some others think.  I guess the way I look at it is, I can't take things personally if I don't know the person making the criticism personally.

I agree that the "little man" syndrome where they make up for their inadequacies in real life with abusive board presence accounts for a lot of the degradation of board culture.

What I posted above was not an attack; it was commentary / opinion.  An attack is an attempt to hurt, injure, or destroy something or someone.

and from what I'm reading on social media and in conversations with others, I think some folks are just tired of the confusion, misogyny, rating system, and how rules & standards are applied differently from one person to the other. If you have a twitter account, just hang around because there will be a new topic about TER weekly. And it isn't pretty.  

You make good points.  I've seen that each region of the country seems to use a different site or sites more than others.  When I was in Oklahoma/Texas a couple months ago, nothing was happening on TER there.  I have a twitter account, but I don't want to mix my public twitter with my private sexual interests.  Any suggestions?

For me, it seems the number of young, fit providers who are reasonably priced has plummeted, and the board banter is largely made up of a few posters and several providers that I'm not interested in seeing.

Unless TER decides to change the way they moderate the boards, it's up to the posters to post in such a way that the board is more like they want it to be.

But there's hints, e.g. a smiley face along with a compliment is usually a good indication it's not an attack IMO.

That why the "ladies" don't post here.  Half of the posters here are on the national advisory lists.  " A board presence doesn't result in corresponding amount of business"  Brilliant analysis--youre like the Warren Buffet of costs and benefits for hooker rating websites.  This board used to be fun when it wasn't full of suburban weirdos,  white knights,  and  just plain stupid motherfuckers. Bring back the days of Ben Dover when the moderator was the biggest whore monger in the twin cities and enlightened and inspired us with his fuck it all attitude.

Why not write negative reviews if they are honest and objective? Isn't that what this site is for?  How can it possibly be useful if guys just write kiss-ass reviews?  I'd encourage you to re-think that strategy.  That's the reason the reviews under this name as mostly not so great.  The reviews under my handle are the good ones.  I want to send guys to the good gals to help both the gals and guys, and I want to warn guys when I encounter a fraud/fake/bad session.  I don't want other guys to shell out a bunch of cash unnecessarily.  Please think of the guys as well as the gals.   Doing so will only result in the good ones staying around and the bad ones leaving.

I have been posting on TER since 2000, I believe, and the difference in then and now is much the same as everywhere else - the tone is more difficult to navigate and people are so much more easily offended to the point of attacking.  I remember back when this was a community where we all stuck together and had each other's backs as a way of life in this hobby.  It appears to me that although there are still mostly amazing ladies around, we have become the silent crew, resigning ourselves to our once a week ad posting rather than engaging in constructive discussions on the boards.

What good does it do to call everyone who disagrees with you a White Knight?  What benefit do you derive from trying to label and pigeonhole dozens of others, with widely varying opinions, actions, backgrounds, and attitudes into one small box and then conveniently dismiss them?

I'm interested mainly in the tactics that have been used so pervasively as to cause many to avoid the boards altogether.  The PM's I've received about this address the WK label more than all others and it seems that a few posters were able to shut down discussion and bully others by categorically labeling them WK's as if that term had a true meaning.

Also in comversing with providers it seems like they get an answer back from others on screening of clients much quicker then most of us get answers to date requests

It's easy to see that traffic is down.  It's much harder to spend the time going through months of posts and noting who used to post but doesn't anymore.  And even if you did, how do you contact them?  Most of my communication with people on TER was via PM.  If they don't have an active TER membership, sending them a PM is useless.  If they have found a new place to hang out that they like, they aren't likely to come back anyway.

Question Vorlon. Are you refering to providers?  
If so , and you have some specific  ones in mind . The question I'd  ask myself , and do the reasearch by looking at their postings.   Is this, what did they honestly  bring to the board of substance.  The cutesy one liners or well thought out discussion points.    That tells me alot of about what they are  truely seeking from the board.  

If you want to throw names out. Be consistent.    You want to name him name her. Then if people  want to know the whole fucking story , they can do the work to find out the facts.   But hey why should we be bothered by pesty facts right.  But  you want to make it a one sided  conversation at best, or intentionally  mislead what really went down regarding that period on the board.    Like always, the  wagons  are being circled, just like then . Some things never do change.  

That article   was nothing but a publicity stunt to coincide with her announcement that she was going FS.  Go read the article.   And if you expect me to believe that alot of people  here didn't  know  it was coming out beforehand well I'm not buying that BS.

What's different between then and now?
Moderators.  Mods worked to create a tone, usually humorous, and the humor covered a multitude of sins.
Threads like this were controlled quickly; not censorship for censorship's sake, but curtailing posts that took up space while offering nothing new or amusing.
Nevertheless people generally looked out for one another, men and women, and there was much less psychosis and vitriol, even when Ben was modding.  No one (certainly not women) would call BD politically correct, but for some reason women took the risk of stepping onto the board because the conversation was authentic, not psychotic.
Providers tended to come second to the men (...), but that was mostly because the board was genuinely about seeking good women and avoiding the scams.  Those conversations have all gone away.  
So what is the point of the board now?
It doesn't have one.  I read reviews  and try to sort the wheat from the growing clouds of chaff, fake news and shills. Mostly I use PMs to connect and clarify.
But I have no use for a board that subjects my eyes to this sort of sewage.
