.... a hobbyist who feels the need to publicly defend any of his "favorites" even if a valid concern is posted....the aspect of "whiteknightitis" that has always pissed me off is the apparent need for the hobbyist to publicly let the provider know he is defending her honor even if the posting is appropriate or valid......as far as a hobbyist telling a provider that she should raise her rates or she is worth more than her current rate, that has been going on since the beginning....the psychology behind that is well stated by bananajoe and Shawna in that the hobbyist is either looking to "help" her in exchange for future considerations or it is his way of complimenting her....but as Shawna said, I don't know of too many guys that would be actually willing to pay that new rate that he is saying she is supposedly worth.....lol.....So, I agree with Mr. Anti Green Knight......the Green Knights certainly have the potential to turn into white knights.....perhaps they are white knights in training.....lol
so I saw a provider a few days ago, and as I'm getting undressed she starts to tell me that "everyone says I should raise my prices." While she is on the lower end of pricing, her services reflected her price because that is ALL she talked about the whole session. She actually stopped blowing me to ask me if I thought she should raise her prices.
So, my question to the White Knights is: what are you trying to accomplish by telling a provider to charge more? I mean yeah, if Alana Love was charging $150 an hour and thinking of getting out of the business because she was getting a bunch of trashy guys, then I could see saying something. But this urge to "save" and "help" these women is a little on the arrogant side, don't you think? Providers are not idiots, and a lot of them are smarter than we are - I mean shit, they run their own businesses in an underground economy - not an easy thing to do.
But wait! Here comes the White Knight, and he knows better than she does! Does he have any professional experience setting prices in any other service industry? Doubtful (although I do and that is why this hits a nerve with me). Does he actually want to pay her more? No, he's hoping she'll keep him at the old price because he "helped" her. And, if he did want to give her more money, he could just give her a nice fat tip.
Anyway, this isn't a complaint about money. Anyone who's seen my reviews knows I generally go for (and can afford) the cream of the crop. But the White Knights sometimes drive me crazy! They are like religious nuts that think it's their job to worry about what everyone else is doing. Like I said, providers are smarter than you think, and bad business advice could actually hurt them. If you want to pay her more, then do so and shut the hell up. Because if the provider mentioned above raises her prices she will lose business, guaranteed.
Ok, rant over....
as it relates to TER is a hobbyist who comes to the defense of a provider who is being trashed or otherwise ostracized on TER. Maybe thise knights should be called Green Knights. Green as in more lettuce for the talkative provider.
And if their strategy works, they might be grandfathered in at a lover price for a while, it wont be for long. This is a business and the girls will figure out soon enough what value they provide. And if they aren't sharp enough to figure that out well, this is an independent contractor CASH business- and the supply/demand will determine price.
Did you tell the provider that the longer she talks the LESS you were going to pay her?
And if you Knights want to be her pimp, apply for the job.
I have noticed the rise in the price that Asian Kim just initiated. She seems to be a very intelligent lady and she kept her price at $200 for a many months, built a nice customer base, gave the troops a 2-3 week heads up the her price was going up and then only went from 200 to 250. Her reviews seem pretty good and I believe that she now hosts in nicer hotels then at the beginning. Good marketing for her, I presume. One thread that was common in her reviews- good value.
wouldn't a hobbyist want a good value once in awhile. There have been too many that are just the opposite.
So these Green Knights should let the market dynamics set the price. Next time I buy a car that is advertised at a set price I will tell them, "Oh no, that car is worth a lot more, please raise your prices". In the meantime another buyer shows up and it happy to pay the advertised price.
giving you the benefit of the doubt. would have preferred no reference to your intelligence?
I concluded your IQ reading your posts, and what others have said in your reviews.
I will take back "very intelligent"- what would you prefer-

So it will be easier for him to see her. My opinion is that she sould not raise it for that reason only as it will cost her business, good standing in the community, and ultimately, money.
I've wondered why some guys have this odd habit.
will base her prices on how often her phone rings and how many clients she would like to see. The new ones should price themselves below market value and raise her price once her phone rings so much that she can't accomodate the clients she would like to see. It's really simple supply/demand economics. Is every client who writes a good review a white knight?

I still go by by my original definition of a White Knight. Any dissension?

Amen brother.
I think you hit it right on the head.
I've had lots of guys say that I should raise my rates. I've never actually took it to mean that they WANT to pay more. I just see it as a way that some gentlemen choose to compliment me.
This girl you saw, apparently wasn't reading in between the lines. A lot of those same guys who told her that, are not going to come back and see her again if she raises her rate.
Leave it to Shawna to reduce the question to its essence and deliver the common sense in two concise paragraphs.
