My complex personality

Some of you might participate in this and maybe no one will. But I was reading Chloe's post which stated whether looks or personality is more important to a hobbyist. I would be interested in knowing others' little things that they do that make or are a part of their personality, or whatever you want to call it. You can mention one thing. I will list three things that I do. For example:

I pick up pennies whenever I see one.
I try to say the word"fun" instead of "fuck!"
I make it a point to look, acknowledge and say hello to someone who is homeless if I pass them by in a street.

What are you like

...who are tolerant of mine.

I, too, pick up pennies whenever I see one. 'Watch your pennies and the dollars take care of themselves'. 'A penny saved is a penny earned'.

I have strong, unshakeable religious beliefs. I say a prayer of thanks to God after each sexual encounter with a beautiful woman. I believe that this encounter was God's gift to me and was meant for me to enjoy. Then I go and have a steak dinner and a margarita to celebrate. I also frequently thank God when I watch porn. The beauty that I see in porn is equal to the beauty that can be found in Nature or in Music. Every time I board a flight I say a silent prayer for the safety of the aircraft, the pilot and the flight crew, followed by prayers of safety for my fellow passengers, then for my family members and others who are significant in my life and, lastly, for myself and my safety. I don't subscribe to the puritanical views of sex. Sex, sexuality, sensuality and the beauty that surrounds each of these is a gift from above.

I always assist the elderly and the disabled with simple tasks like opening doors or assisting them to reach items at the grocery stores. I am strong and I often assist physically challenged people. As a former Boy Scout I try to do a good deed daily but, I know from experience that no good deed goes unpunished. I always, always hold the door open for women. It's not just that I'm such a gentleman but it's more that I love to watch the hot ones from behind as they walk away. I just luvs a fine booty!

I always give generously to the Salvation Army Kettle drive and I never pass a bell ringer without giving what I can at the moment. I always make a point to thank those who are attending the Kettle for their selflessness. I don't patronize businesses during the Christmas season who have banished the Salvation Army from setting up a Kettle Drive station. Fuck them!

At the age of 13, I lost an aunt to cancer.  This was the beginning of a ten year string of deaths in the family, ending with my mother in 1997 (I was 22).  This, and other things, brought on a very caustic aspect of my personality.  I can't stand to see people in their comfort zone with their bullshit views on things they don't know about.  I take intense pleasure in shocking people out of their comfort zones.

On the flip side, my experiences have made me incredibly empathetic.  For instance, TS Sasha (former Miss TER) recently lost a dear friend.  I went out of my way to let her know that I cared, even giving her my real name, e-mail and phone number...just in case she needed someone to talk to, someone who had been through similar experiences.

Finally, I am an loud advocate for causes that I believe in.  It used to be the failed war on drugs, now it is anything and everything hobby-related.  I am very open with most people about what I do and what the real issues surrounding the hobby are.  I have even chewed off the ear of representative Cheryl Youakim about the issue.

Wait a minute, that last one is a variant of shocking people out of their comfort zones...

to raher than ignore, or look away or past handicapped persons, to look them in the eye and say hello.
Friend of mine is in chair and has told me many times how excluded he feels when people look 'past' him when he sees them.
And how he cherishes small children who ask him questions or simply look wide-eyed at his predicament.
2. When I can, I offer assistance to elderly or disabled.  I'd say half I've offered to, don't want my help, but none of those ever responded like I was pitying them.
One of my parents suffered the last 9 yrs of life battling Parkinson's, & i was impressed how strangers offered assistance to her & the effect it had on her mood.

I'm prone to randomly start counting things, such as the number of steps in a staircase I'm going up or down on.  When I was young, my favorite Sesame Street character was The Count

I also will pick up pennies as well as of course any other money I find lying around.  Once as a boy I found a $20 bill in a vacant lot and felt rich beyond measure.

I'm fairly pragmatic.  If you want to convince me of something, best to have some logic and data for why you are right

When I push open a certain door at my job, I snap my fingers when my arm fully extends. Just because.

I assiduously study football, baseball, and basketball statistics while the season is going on, trying to predict which players will reach certain milestones.

I like to engage strangers in conversation in the checkout line or other times where we're standing around, like at my second favorite hobby, estate sales. There's no pressure and maybe some benefits.

when I am out and come across a woman who is pregnant and in a service job (waitress etc...) I over tip.  If I leave a $10 dollar tip on a $10 check that will have no effect on my life but it could really help a young woman who will be out of work for awhile soon and see her expenses rise dramatically.  It is not much but I feel good about it.

Second one is young people in the military.  When I see them coming off a plane in NYC I am the first on my feet to thank them.  and when I see young military at a fast food place counting there cash to see what they can afford to eat I wait until they order then tell the cashier to put the bill on my credit card.  Like the waitress these people do so much for others it seems fair for us to do something for them.
