I very much agree with you. The rates are most definitely for my time. Now if some one wants to pay that rate, I'm more than willing to spend the time they have paid for going out some where public to spend some time chatting and such. Sounds like a good time to me.
My hours are very limited, so it's not worth my time offering a reduced rate for a meet and greet in public like this when I could very easily fill that time slot with some one who is willing to pay my normal rate for my time.
It is a neat concept, just not practical for me.
I think this is a great idea. for several reasons; as a provider you would have a great chance to get to know the guy who will or may, then be invited into your bedroom, second for a single lady in the same age bracket it could be fun to visit nice restaurants with a grateful gentleman. and finally $50 to $75 is what non sexual massage providers charge for a full massage w/hot towels and clean linens. If the two people are in no way compatible then it is a easy No. For a compatible couple meeting for dinner and a drink is a great prelude to a longer evening, or not.
For a traveling 20 year old who is just interested in building a bankroll this would be a non starter. For a mature cortesan this could be a nice evening. Other things could include a Vikings or Twins game, a concert or a play.
A smart marketer could list things that are a la carte like Dinner only $60. sporting event $75. and end with Outings can be combined with private time meetings.
It is not for everyone and even those who are interested could pick and choose. I the lady does not like Hockey or is not old enough to get served in the bar she simply declines. If the "gentleman' is offering a big mac combo meal the lady could just hang up

I'm sorry I just don't see that happening too much. I go on dinner dates, to the movies, concerts, business parties, even to a wedding once and I do get my regular rate or a multiple-hour special rate (does not include $50 at any point for 1 hour). If you consider getting ready (about an hour), transportation (usually 30 min), parking charges (if DT) and the time spent (approx 90 minutes to 2hours depending on the restaurant) ... That's about 3 1/2 to 4 hours @ $75 or even $100. Break it down and it comes to about $22.50 an hour minus any parking fees (approx $10) ... I made more than that in the corp world. If I have an evening without a work date (appt) I prefer spending that with friends and family. Not being greedy and although it sounds like a good idea from a marketing point, its just not worth the hassle. What if I made an appt for $75 to go on a "meet and eat" then the next day I get offered a 2 hour regular appt for $550 for the same evening ... Should I cancel the first one? NO ... I would never cancel only for a monetary reason yet I would see it as me losing $475. What if I advertised dinner only dates (meet and eat) for $50 an hour ... Would my dinner dates of 3 plus hours need to change to include the reduced dinner rate ... Then what about much longer dates ... How many hours are at the $50 rate and at the $325 rate? Just gets confusing. So at this point I'm not considering it ... If however it becomes the norm and I need it for business then I guess I would have to reconsider.

This reminds me of an idea I had for an eharmony like service that has dating coaches who go out with you and give you brutally honest feedback on how to improve your dating skills. It would be legal and the guys would be fully verified with real info so hopefully very safe. I think there are a lot of women or college students who don't want to be full blown providers and are making less than say $25 hr that would think a part time dating job is better than their current job but the issue is if they try independently they usually can't find enough guys to make a reliable income so if it was attached to a dating service hopefully they could get a stead paycheck. Sometimes there are people on the newbie board that post how to get started as a nonsexual provider and they usually all say the same thing that it is not worth the time and very hard to find clients
