Just read another story where she was trying to sell the story for $200k to any media that would listen just before the election, but because everyone in the liberal media thought Hillary was going to win in a blow-out, they didn't think her story was worth that much. In desperation she accepted Trump lawyer's $130k offer instead.
Now when $ signs are popping up again, she's taking another swing at it. Sure she violated the discretion of any two sexual beings, sure she accepted cash for silence and then reneged. Sure she signed several statements saying it didn't happen and then said it did. She wants the $$$. End of story.Stepping back from the media political circus of Daniels v 45, there is another dimension to this story.
It shows the power of sexworkers with regard to clients who also pursue holier than thou public policy (against contraception, against gays and transsexuals, against abortion, and against all forms of sex work as this new internet law). Sexworkers, like the members of the gay community, who outed anti-gay politicians who were living closeted lives have tremendous power. It would be interesting to hear how they might be able to use it.
The silence of men who see sex workers and consume porn to back Stormy Daniels up on the core legitimacy of her right and our right to have sexual relationship with any consenting adults. So far, the support of Ms. Daniels is largely centered on its anti-Trump message or on her ability to get an enormous amount of cleavage on news shows. The support of her in the context of normalizing sex work is what should move this topic from partisan politics to the issue of legitimizing and normalizing sex works. She is our ally. Are we acting as hers?
What should clients do with regard to supporting her chosen work, so that someday the puritanical cloak will not descend on all of us again when the Stormy story is gone.
Agree that this should be pushed to legalize sex work 100%. If what she did with 45 was sex work and not just her trying to get ahead by getting on his TV show.
But disagree because she is getting accused of violating an agreement and outing a client! That is what is scary. Because even if it is legalized P4P... people still like autonomy. She is breaking that.
So it is a slippery slope.
Bull.... she had one goal in mind ... make money.
She proved that a sex worker will out you if the price is right.
The public needs to know that the politicians pushing an anti sex work agenda are the same ones participating in escort services.
Many politicians have been guilty of this in the past and I haven't noticed any real change.
Just wait until the FOSTA-SESTA Bill goes into effect!
IMO, It's going to make all of our lives a living hell. The repercussions of this disastrous bill has already started, unfortunately! GRRRR!
Yeah, turn every escort into a crusading politically partisan snitch. That'll bring in the business.
You mean they need to know they ARE HYPOCRITS.
Just setting their sails to whatever way the tide is flowing . Never see that in regards to the hobby do we?
Van ,now your on to something, as it relates one having effect on the other. But I'm not going to get all worked up about Her or him .
Now for all who think that simply legalizing would have absolutely negated her going public. Well Utopia must be a nice place to live.
The central issue to remind you is this, Publicly outing clients and effect on clients and providers.
Stay on point.
Lets hear peoples position on that. Then you will know if YOU are in a REAL or imaginary compromising position when it comes to hobbying.
It was making an analogy to the effect of outing homophobic politicians which is a different issue altogether. This article speaks better than I do.
No! No! No!! I would never out a client. Ever. I have clients that have very prominent and public positions in the community. They know they can trust me, just as I know I can trust them.
Nutbar, I will think positive thoughts for your evolution. The Stormy Daniels story has greatly hurt business and our clients in the public eye seeing us no matter what their current political position. It has increased fear. And her life was even threatened.
Yes it should be legalized. Its legal everywhere else on the globe. And there should be no stigma attached to it as us being second class citizens to be able to use against anyone. Im sure there are men in both political parties who would personally like to see it be legal.
Abuse of power, hurting people- especially children or married families is not the right way to get it legalized. Alot of us are good moms providing for their children. I have a goal to be harmless, find the good in everyone. Political positions can change but to just connect unconditionally with another human being for a few blissful moments with no fear-should just be just that. Period.
I strongly disagree with what Stormy Daniels did. It was a petty cheap shot that was not good for us or for business. And I am not taking any political sides with this as an entertainer. And yes, you guys know who you are that have seen me. Dont worry. You saw the right provider.
As long as their is a necessity for them to exist. Nothing much will change for the better.
Unless all participants are going to be complete 100% out on what they do, to family ,friends , employers there is going to be a power dynamics involved not right but that is reality.
People don't sign or request them because of fact that it is illegal in vast majority of cases. They do so to maintain THEIR PRIVACY and they dont want to lose all their shit. Marriages, jobs, retirements, family standings. Unless a whole lot come on here and say none of that matters more than a petty misdomeanor charge well there goes the legal groundwork your laying for comparison purposes. . And if it suddenly was legal how much would that change , not much IMO.
Seriously how many of you are going to be this person. "That's a hell of a revelation Bob or Betty for the ladies , never thought you'd come out at the family , company picnic about this activity or thats some heavy shit to bring up at lunch. Some ,but nowhere near large majority I bet.
There is inherent and healty mistrust in what we are involved on both sides . Lets just see it as it really is, and not pretend their is a magic bullet answer in form of legalizing.

Nutbar, you make a very valid point, but as this thread shows, the Stormy Daniels controversy has too many cross-currents and political implications for the message to get through.
Someone on the news last night made an interesting point: Now that Stormy has told her story on 60 minutes, Trump's smartest move would be to drop everything. Suing her for millions for violating the NDA (which, IMHO, should not be enforceable), or trying to silence her simply exposes 45 to continuing controversy and the possibility of having to testify.
In the end, the battle for legitimizing sex work is going to have to take place in another venue.
I believe in discretion above not being hypocritical. Everyone is hypocritical. Yes, it's a detriment to many people's wellbeing. However, I would never out another person, nor would I ever want to be outed.
Also, outing politicians may have the opposite effect that was intended. They tend to demonize the incidents and go into a "rehabilitation" center. Then people rejoice in the "new image" of the politician, claiming that they've changed. People will justify anything to their liking so that they don't feel guilty about their beliefs and actions. If they like that politician, they will follow them to the end of the world. Outing them will not change this.
Eliminating or minimizing gerrymandering may be more effective.
Sorry to be pessimistic, I'm usually an optimist, a realistic optimist.
