I travel pretty frequently and always come to TER for the insider details.I'm from South Beach and This is my first trip to Minnesota and I'll be staying in the Minneapolis area (Downtown) I'll have my girlfriend with me and I wanted to know where I can take her to have some fun...Either nice lounges or nice places to eat...Or fun things to do.We will only be here for a few days but I just wanted to show her all you guys have to offer.I know I can go to the hotel and ask but I prefer to get insider details not just tourist destinations..... Not much info on what you're looking for but ... Pick up a Citypages on the street/bookstore/cafe etc. Lot's of opportunities in there. Restaurants/venues-live music/ and the like. Reviews are reliable. Quite a bit w/in walking distance from all hotels downtown. Have a cocktail or a bite at Nye's, music at the Fineline, or try to hit Ground Zero on a Friday or Saturday night! Enjoy!
---in general, I like Uptown & Lyn/lake area. Short cab ride---lots of restaurants, rooftop bars and the lakes. You might like Chino Latino for food in uptown. Tilia is a great restaurant in linden hills---close to uptown.
Downtown---depending on where u are at couple of the spots to hit..marvel bar if u are looking for a good drink, bar la grassa, bachelor farmer, nami (sushi), seven (sushi), king and I Thai for restaurants.

Seven -- located on Hennepin in downtown has the closest to a South Beach vibe. Great atmosphere, decent food, and turns into a hipper, more crowded scene late on weekends. It''s also close enough to a lot of other spots, so that if it' not really your cup of tea, you walk and check out other places, or even if you're looking for a change of pace after you're done with Seven.
