MASSAGE

I noticed a massage place on University Avenue, about three blocks west of Hwy 280, on the south side of the street.  Anyone been there?  What's on the menu?

Being a long time St. Paulite, I have pretty much been to all the massage joints in town.  They are, of course all gone now due to some ordanace changes in St. Paul.  The remnants of the old Cosmopolitan set up shop in what is now an auto repair shop about 3 blocks West of 280 but it is also long gone now.  They eventually moved to the warehouse district of Minneapolis and opened a second story place called "City Lights".  They are out of there now also.

Just knowing the St. Paul LE attitude I would highly doubt if a massage fun spot has opened up where you saw the location.  It must be a therapeutic massage shop.  There are a number of them around where you do not remove the towel from around your waist.  If I'm wrong about that, it won't be open long after your post.lol.

I know this place and have been to it a few times.  You will get a good massage, but nothing else.  I went more than once, because I thought that maybe you had to be a regular before any extras were offered.  That wasn't the case at least not in my experience. Of course, YMMV.
The providers are Asian and some of them are very attractive.

Dear HuggyBear3,

What's the address? While it probably isn't what we'd like it to be, it is nice to know of places that do give a decent massage even if the ending isn't so "happy".
And in regards to the good old days in Saint Paul, too bad about such places as the Cosmospolitian and RAL. Also Night Lights.
Rebecca Rand ran a good operation with the "Cos" and RelaxaLounge. That can't be said(IMHO) about one's of Becky's former girls, Tamara.

Thanks to all for your info!  EOM

Ah yes - remember the Speakeasy on University ?  Or how about those joints that were on Lake Street - Kim Lee's and the Royal Knight?   They were a real bargin's and provided an nice atmosphere to "hone" our skills on.

You probably might remember all the places along or near the 494 strip. Supposely, Richfield at one time had the most places per capita in the US. That was a comment from someone I knew who worked for the City of Richfield at the time.
Or as he also commented " at least we know where its' at so there's no trouble."
Or as a Mpls cop friend said: " we made Becky Rand rich and famous by busting her. She knew how to work it. Alot of free PR."
I did have the chance to also hear Rand give a lecture for a college class I was taking at the time.
Too bad more of her didn't rub off.IMHO

Here is the address:
3008 University Ave SE
Mpls
They do take walk-ins.

I forgot to add this in my last post.  I liked the Emporium in St. Paul.  This was where I first met Cassie, now of Cassie and Cheryl.

Dear HB3,

Thanks for the address. I was driving down University Ave this evening, heading home to St.Paul from a function at the U of M.
Didn't see a sign or the like, but with an address, that will help. I will check them out. As I had said, even if if no happy ending. A good massage can't be beat. As always, YMMV.
Thanks for the insight about Cassie and Cheryl. I went to the Emp. once circa 1992 - after the Cosmospolitian closed.
You'd still tell it used to be a Doctor's office.Don't remember who I saw. I still do keep in touch with a few ladies who used to work for R.Rand and another I would still also , but...
Cassie and Cheryl are on my list. Looking for nice LT types/nice folks.           Sincerely,
                SP00

What was the name of the place on E Lake Street before you got to the river ?  It was on the right hand side of an intersection next to a florist shop with a video store across the street.   Cassie, Tiffany, Brook, Amber were a few of the gals who worked there.

Top3,

If it is the one I am thinking of, that would be East Lake Health Club. Was on the south side of Lake Street.
There was another one located not too far from East Lake on the north side of the street. Tucked back a little bit from the street. Don't know the name.
I never was to East Lake but sounds like it was similiar to Relax a Lounge and Cosmospolitian.

Aaahhhh  The good old days of East Lake Health Club.  I still would like to know what happened to Robin from there.  She was a blast.

Thanks SkyPilot, it was East Lake Health Club before LE shut it down.  I was there several days before that fatefull episode, parked in the back.  When I came out someone had thrown a huge rock through my truck window and taken my brief case.  Thats the only bad memory I have with the place.  It trained and graduated alot of young lady's into the marketplace.

After Robin left east lake, she went indy for a while,
then she was my SO for a couple of years, but things didn't
work out between us, during our time together she returned
to college, and then began to work in the world of finance,
Where she made it big! That is the last that I ever heard of
her, and that was about 3 years ago. I wish her the best.
