Liz and the responses

This is/was one of those situations that are difficult for a mod. Do I let the players "play in the sandbox" or modify or delete the message from "doorjammer"?

I chose to let all of you (the posters) take this topic head-on. I thought the response by "doorjammer" was fairly cold and heartless but it really didn't attack her personally.

Bottom line .... Liz, I hope you are OK after this incident and that eventually your car is recovered and you can make that money back up.

The comment posted was asinine and inexcusable.  It should be removed.

Right choice mister mod, sir.  *no kiss up intended*  And I echo the well wishes to Liz, that all goes much better from here.

I for one apprecitate the assinine comments by toe jam or door whatshisfunny...it just shows me with his insensitive comments that there still are a few out there who need to get laid even more than I do.  Not to mention the benefits of a high fiber diet.

Take care out there fair ladies, and don't waste time on the jerk comments out there.  Smile always so they wonder what the hell you're up to. hehehehe

Peace y'all...

In a perfect world it would happen to him next. Nobody deserves to be treated that way. Good luck Liz.

I'm not so sure posts should be removed just for being rude and inappropriate.  If a post is truly tasteless, damaging, contains personal info, etc., it should be deleted.

But there's a benefit to leaving rude posts, in that they're "self policing."  If I flame you inappropriately, then everyone else who sees my post has the opportunity to judge me and my motives.  Let's assume that you read that post, and then that post is deleted by the mod.  This is really the worse case--the damage is already done (your feelings are hurt) AND I get a free ride, in that my post goes away before it's had a chance to reflect poorly on me.

The posts in question are perfect examples--they don't reflect poorly on Liz at all, only on their authors, so by all means, leave 'em.

I think the yardstick has to be "who will be hurt in the future if I allow this post to stay."  If it's the target, you delete it, if it's the author, you leave it.

Tonight on channel 4 there was a 60sec spot about recent car thefts downwtown minneapolis.  I only caught the end of it but I thought of  Liz hope there were those who could help you in your time of need.
