Legalization - Why not?

Is there any good reason not to pursue changing the laws that impact some of the folks on this board?

No there is not a good reason for not changing the law.  But good luck getting a mainstream politician to take up the issue.  They would be under attack by both the Un-Christian right, and the Feminist left.  Some in groups like the Libertarian Party would support it, but they have a snowballs chance in hell of getting elected.  Ventura made it because he was celeberty, He wouldn't stand a chance if he had been an ordinary person running on the Reform party ticket.

The talking points we've been using in meeting with the legislators focus on the harm the laws do and the general benefits of legalizing.  Reception so far has been good.  These same points are being used in 4 other states with similar results.  I'm confident that within the next 2 years we'll see 2 and possibly 3 states legalize.

I wish you luck in your efferts to change these Draconian Laws on our freedom.  I have always wondered why something that would otherwise be legal, is illegal when money is exchanged!
