Or is there a lot of completely unncecessary nastiness going around here the past few months? It's one thing to disagree with someone or post your opinion on something. It's another to resort to name-calling and personal attacks. I wonder if the people who do this act like this when they are on the phone or face-to-face with someone. If not, then why do you act like it's OK to do this here? If you do, well at least you are consistent although it's not something I'd want to be consistent at. It might be a good idea if everyone took a few deep breaths and read their postings carefully before they clicked on Post Message. Politeness and civility should never go out of style and are always useful!
It appears this board is experiencing the same lifecycle characteristics the "other board" experienced. And the demise of that board occurred over a period of time as it became boring, rude, mundane and effectively useless.
And I would suggest the reasons are pretty close to the same - hell, maybe the characters are the same with different names. Who knows....
Its a shame because this environment/application has much more to offer and more potential than the other one ever had. As with any software application, its only as good as the people that use it.
This is a your board. Take it upon yourselves to improve it.
TBD had some legal problems, effecting all his boards. I don't see TER allowing anyone to coerce him into alienating his paid subscribers. I got a few calls from the old TBD owner and his moderators when they realized we had jumped ship. Interesting conversations. At least I finally found out what was going on and who the culprits were. Of course those same troublemakers will always follow the business LOL.
When this board was established, I'd asked Staff to un-moderate everyone in order to create a good flow of info. They were happy to oblige.
So anyway, I just ignore the buttheads and try not to get involved in sludge. Too much drama to get involved in everyone else's problems. But, if you want suggestions/help with the big picture, I'll do my best.
Pet Peeves: 1. When someone cuts another down publicly. Personal attacks should never be allowed.
2. When a hobbyist seems to be getting favors for promoting. If she's good, her reviews will carry her. If she has something to say... let her say it herself. Get a purple suite and hat if it makes you feel special.
3. Continued drivel on the board just to see your moniker.
4. Cutting this board down on another and continuing to post here? If you feel the need to choose one board, DO IT.
5. And worst of the worst; Ulterior motives to harm others
