So I need opinions from gentleman hobbyists here. I recently started being able to host on a regular basis (5 days a week) but I'm still very selective as to who I see.

Does the look of the outside of the apartment building matter that much? I was rejected today because my home wasn't as 'upscale' as expected, based on what my website depicted. However, I have the place completely clean, and ready with beautiful wine glasses, paintings, candles, nice furniture, etc. I have a puppy... who is very well mannered.

I've never hosted in my own home before... do guys really expect penthouse style incall situations? Opinions?

After viewing your website and reading your reviews it is obvious you are a woman of class (not to leave out drop dead gorgeous).  One would make the assumption you would not live in a questionable neighborhood.  For me, as long as the building is not falling down and there are not thugs hanging around the entrance, what's found inside is what counts.  Some may have an expectation of a "penthouse" location and of course those individuals are free to have you come to them and be as upscale in their location as they want (or can afford to be).   And you say you have a puppy...hmmmm. some of your friends write about your soft and playful kitty (ok, I couldn't resist!!)

It depends on the neighborhood...if its in a ghetto or an area notorious for crime I expect some guys may pass.  Otherwise its really the inside that's more important.  If its neat and clean it speaks volumes about the provider herself.  That being said, there has been a recent scenario with another upscale provider on the boards dealing with some unpleasant problems due to the wrong people knowing where her house and family lives.  I would be extremely cautious about who you invite in.  Good luck and stay safe.

Be up front and tell people what to expect. If the neighborhood is safe, tell them so.

I would imagine your client was looking for a reason to get out.   Maybe afraid to go through with it.  Based on your pictures, I would think one would have to be a fool to leave unless there was no safe place to park the car or your apt. smelled like dead animals.

...how nervous a gent is likely to be the first time he walks up to the door. Your website is very professional and slick, very classy, so the disconnect of an older building might cause him to wonder "Is it really her?" and cause a cascade of doubts.

I once stood outside a building for five minutes trying to figure out how to operate the damn intercom system so she could buzz me in, while the paranoia built. Was someone photographing me through the window across the street? Was that pedestrian looking at me funny? Were spy satellites tracking me? I didn't run away sobbing, but I thought about it.

Knowing in advance that it's an older building means one less thing to adjust to on the fly. Anything you can do to make him feel matters are proceeding exactly as expected, will be a good thing.

It's more about if the area is dangerous to walk/park in at night, i.e. does it feel dodgy.
Main point for me is usually how far away it is and how difficult it can be to get there during certain times of the day.

That was so well put. I feel that way almost every time I meet a new girl, even if it's a well known highly reviewed provider regardless of the location. Sometimes I feel that way if a provider I've visited before changes locations. To answer the question though I think I would prefer an apartment building over a hotel/motel any day. The only issue I've ever really encountered with them is the occasional nosy neighbor.

Based on your general description of your location, I can tell you that I have adopted a personal policy of not going into 60's era apartments that appear rundown.  I also consider the cars in the parking lot.  Certainly there are exceptions, but my experiences in this type of building have been uniformly bad.  There are buildings like this near the Mall of America and I have been in several of them, with poor results.

True... the building does appear older... as do the hallways. However, the inside of my apartment is very upscale. To each their own I suppose. Thank you all for your advice! I really appreciate it!

So long as the area looks safe and the building is not really run down I have no problem with it.

I don't really care what is inside or what other amenities are offered as long as the inside is clean.

Unfortunately the exterior of a building or neighborhood can sometimes send bad vibes.

I have never heard of a client rejecting a provider because her in-call didn't match her website. In such a case the issue is your client and not you. His expectations are probably unreasonable and you have to be careful. He might be using such excuses as a bargaining tool and maybe doing it with other providers too. It never ceases to amaze me the excuses guys come up with when they don't want to pay full fare.

I once turned away from an incall appointment because the area did not look safe.  
Safety is my main motivator.  
It does not have to be  a five star hotel, just safe and clean.  
Single family homes can be a problem, because it is easier to tell who is coming and going.

My short answer: The exterior wouldn't matter if I knew ahead of time to expect better (decor-wise to begin) behind the door. It could even be a plus, kind of a buildup where each element of the fantasy gets better as it progresses.

No, don't expect a penthouse.  But also don't want to be in the projects.

The one and only time I have ever come face to face with LE was at a very upscale appartment with very discreet entrances.  Why?  NOSY NEIGHBORS!   One of her neighbors complained to the landlord who called the local police and asked them to investigate.  The neighbor was asked to call them the next time they noticed "suspicious visitors".  I guess having different gentlemen knock on your door a few times a day is suspicious enough for some busybodies.  

And I have heard several accounts of other providers having this type of issue in the past as well.  The other thing you have to be concerned about is that some guys, especially those who become one of your regulars, may have trouble distinguishing fantasy from reality and start to think its not a service and these guys turn into stalkers eventually when you have to explain the boundaries to them.  Do you really want a disgruntled former client to know where you live?  

Its best to keep your personal life completely sheltered from this business.

I would advise you think about this again. This is a matter of personal safety. Also, a wise courtesan pointed out to me years ago that the two things a woman gets to keep to herself in the profession are her true name and her home. She said she never share either one of those with a client. Not just for personal safety, but just to have parts of herself she doesn't have to share.

but I am low-volume enough, and screen well enough, that it's never been a problem for me. If my neighbors want to be nosy, let them think I'm a slut - oh well! As far as I know, there's no law that says I can't fuck 48 peoples' brains out every day as long as I'm not getting paid for it.

True enough, and that is exactly what the provider told the cop in my unfortunate encounter while his partner was working me over trying to convince me to admit to hiring her.  As smart as you think you might be about asserting your rights, dont expect your clients to be. And when neighbors call LE, they will respond and knock on your door or even confront visitors coming or going. They really don't give a shit about an arrest, as it more about harrassing you so you will stop or move. And thats only half of it. Eventually you are going to piss some guy off and now he knows aay too much about you and where you live.

Agree. It's the safety inside, the service, and the looks.  Tiffany has the looks, service, and having seen her I'd trust the area's safety.
