I've been trying to help a family find a dancer named Katana from Deja Vu.  

She's been missing for a week and her mother got a distress call last Friday, but the phone was disconnected.  She's got a brain tumor and needs her medication to avoid seizures.  Her family has information leading to the belief she's being drugged and possibly prostituted out of hotels in the Brooklyn Park area.  

I don't even know if it's appropriate to post this here, but her family is at wits end.  

The reason I need help; LE won't investigate because "who cares about dancers"  Any suggestions?  

They've tried to talk to news channels, but that might not go anywhere.

A local P.I. might be a good idea. I just had one work on some investigations & it ran about $65/ hr. & worth every penney.

But I think LE would care about a missing person - EVEN IF SHE'S A DANCER!  A missing person is a missing person.  I HIGHLY doubt LE would shun her family away if givin the information you are giving us. Misty, there nothing you can do about it, it's her family that needs to take the initiative, not a third party observer.  LE are not bad guys, contrary to popular belief.  There are 3 in particular that used to have our backs when I worked at Lamplighter.  they'd stop in, sat hi, and watch as we left the building - because they CARED for our safety.  

Posting a message on an escort board isn't going to help find her, it's only going to give attention to you, because other than a fake name, you never mentioned what she looked like.  (You know, in case one of these guys happen to see someone resembling her in B.C.?)  If she's held up in a hotel, tell the hotel manager - they'll look into it and kick them out.

But most of all, let LE do their job, because I'm sure they never told her family that they weren't taking it seriously because "who cares about dancers".  That's B.S. and whoever told you that is too.

I'm not going to interogate her Mom, she told me this and that's good enough for me.   Maybe the Mother was wrong in asking me to help, you're suggesting I do something not in my nature.  

I was just asking for advise, I suggested a PI yesterday.  I'm going to offer help financially because I think that's what's holding her Mother back.  Anyone know of a good PI for this?  You can email me @ [email protected] if you don't want to post info on the board.

I didn't feel comfortable giving her real name here, she'd be recognized by her stage name.  Flyers have been distributed throughout the city and the family has questioned the hotels that showed up on her cell records.  Again, LE is doing nothing.

I didn't mean this to be a TER manhunt for this missing girl, just asking for friendly advise.  Not all LE are as kind as you've observed.

Please stop posting as an alias.  Makes me wonder what you have to hide and would also probably force you to be a bit more civil on the boards.  Maybe not though LOL

IMHO, you're doing exactly the right thing.

And, why should you question the Mom?  If that's what she said,then that's what she said.

why wouldn't they call the police or the new stations. can you imagine the headlines?

FIRST I WANT TO THANK MISTY for all that you are doing to help out as I am doing what I can at my end.  I have known her for well over a year now and she really DOES need her medication.. I am so sad to hear about what is happening to her.*sigh*  Her mother is BEYOND worried and this is NOT like her to just WALK AWAY... she has family and a son... I hope to find her soon.. and Misty is right... LE is NOT putting any effort into this because of her background of dancing.  I have my own people in place helping me out to see what we can find out... prayfully something GOOD will come out of this and soon...VERY soon.. *sigh*

Her Mother was at my house yesterday.  I know her boyfriend, he's my electrician.  The police seem to be only interested in filing the report.  

News stations need verification from LE before they'll run a story and they have other headlines to report apparently.

We've found out quite a bit about the abductor.  He's a VERY nasty character.  He's been banned from quite a few hotels for pimping and even set one afire last year.

Reon't take my post the wrong way

The thing about sezures got me thinking - have all the local hospitals been checked for Jane Does?  If she has gone that long wihtout meds, she may have had a seizure and been abandoned by whoever took her, or taken to a hospital.  I don;t know if this has been done already or thought of, but it just crossed my mind... good luck Misty, if there is anything I can do please let me know!
